Please go to PRC, ask them, and they will give you all the details. Obviously, ABSCBN did not get PRC's side on this matter so don't expect that you will see anything in the television about how PRC works. Why? ABSCBN has their own foundation/NGO that does the "same" thing PRC does. Competition kumbaga. You do the math.
Not to belittle their efforts, but no organization is perfect. Financial resources have always been part of sustainability and with the inflation of prices of basic commodities, how can one organization secure that a "volunteer" will be stay on his/her post?
An investigation would be good, just to clarify things as well and to ensure that the law encompasses all types of organizations, whether government-owned or semi or not at all. But I don't think it is proper that these concerns be brought up to a media partner, much more one who has a "rival" charitable foundation. This should be brought up to authorities and only then can the media interfere to deliver any updates.
Hello! Yes, in every organization, kailangan ng pera para umandar. The volunteers need to eat and be somehow compensated as well. I have been with PRC since 6 years old (I started with joining the Red Cross swimming lessons and proceeded to volunteer works), and most of the people with me do not expect anything from PRC, honestly and no exaggeration. We are volunteers. We extend our hands, our energies, our time, to help those that needed our help.

A friend of mine volunteered at the PH Red Cross nung kasagsagan ng Yolanda and take note, pinahihiwakay nila ang mamahaling mga de-lata (he was specific too, Libbys and imported corned beef) at hindi sinasama sa supposed relief goods going to Tacloban. When they asked san dadalhin yung mga hiniwalay na imported goods, sinabi lang na susunod na ipapadala yun. Eh bakit kailangan pang ihiwalay sa nirerepack nilang relief goods kung isasabay din lang?
