I think the reason she did this is to prove that they will not be able to silence her. She mentioned witnesses were paid to keep quiet, so what about the cops? They can easily cover this up to protect the perpetrator... So how ever she did it, whether straight to authorities or social networks, she did the right thing... to speak up!

Please, when trying to define what a Bipolar disorder is, be factual. Do not give guesses such as "matitrigger LANG iyan once may problema, frustrations..." because that is a disservice to people who read your post.

However, those who suffer from it need not be crippled by it - most especially if they have the means to avail of treatment (medication is for life).
One of the most difficult hurdles is to get the person to accept that he/she may be suffering from the disorder (because of the stigma that is presently attached to it in Philippine society). Only after acceptance takes place can all else follow leading to a more balanced and normal life.
Anyone dealing with such a disorder needs to be surrounded by loving, understanding and infinitely patient family and friends. Once you are diagnosed with a Bipolar disorder, there is no cure. You are only clinically diagnosed to be "in remission".

I think Diana thought that IG and Twitter posts will be more powerful than filing a complaint to the authorities. She has been living here in the country and she knows that everything and everybody can be "bought"... at wala syang kalaban laban dun. What really pisses me off about Daiana Menezes' "recanting" her "coming out" on being a victim of domestic violence, is how irresponsible and selfish she's being. This woman is a celebrity and gets a lot of attention, after coming out and being open about something like that, just to take it back later, she's being extremely selfish and not realizing that she's putting all Filipino women in an awful position! From now on, every time a battered wife or a battered girlfriend comes out in the open about their experiences (which is already so hard to do to begin with), they all risk being laughed at and being taken lightly since they "just want attention after all!" Because of her actions, now all men in the Philippines will be thinking that they can easily hurt their wives or girlfriends, just to be forgiven after a few days! Now violent men all over the Philippines will be able to easily point their fingers at Daiana Menezes and say "See, women like that are just looking for attention! My wife is just looking for attention just like Daiana Menezes!" It's already so difficult to speak up about being a victim of domestic abuse! Sorry, just my two cents. Rape is not a joking matter. But instead of using social media for help, she should go to the police, get examined for sexual abuse and get a doctor. It's good to raise public awareness, but do it after you've done everything to ensure that the perv who did that to you will spend a long time being someone's b*tch behind bars.

posting on instagram is her cry for help. she mentioned that the witness was paid off, what makes you think the police will take her seriously? maybe she already filed a report and at the same time posted on instagram. that would be a smarter thing to do instead of keeping it to herself. that way, more people are aware of her situation and if something will happen to her, they will know the culprit.

They can easily cover this up to protect the perpetrator... So how ever she did it, whether straight to authorities or social networks, she did the right thing... to speak up!

One of the most difficult hurdles is to get the person to accept that he/she may be suffering from the disorder (because of the stigma that is presently attached to it in Philippine society). Only after acceptance takes place can all else follow leading to a more balanced and normal life.
Anyone dealing with such a disorder needs to be surrounded by loving, understanding and infinitely patient family and friends. Once you are diagnosed with a Bipolar disorder, there is no cure. You are only clinically diagnosed to be "in remission".

Folks, these facts could easily manifest the power and influence of the perpetrator and would easily make you conclude that he can always get away from everything. Knowing these facts, Daiana would have already known that dealing with this matter privately by reporting it to the police, getting a medicolegal, and filing a case in court isn't that easy, especially for an expat like her. In addition, doing these kind of actions would also have the possibility of putting not only her life but the lives of her loved ones in danger.
So, making sumbong to the madlang people through social media and posting all of these pictures as evidence is the best move for her so that the public can really eye on the situation, especially when she already gathers enough courage to put all these things legally.

Please, she's old enough to clearly discern, discriminate, identify right from wrong, appropriate from what's not appropriate, dangerous from what people in general can consider safe. From now on, every time a battered wife or a battered girlfriend comes out in the open about their experiences (which is already so hard to do to begin with), they all risk being laughed at and being taken lightly since they "just want attention after all!" Because of her actions, now all men in the Philippines will be thinking that they can easily hurt their wives or girlfriends, just to be forgiven after a few days! Now violent men all over the Philippines will be able to easily point their fingers at Daiana Menezes and say "See, women like that are just looking for attention! My wife is just looking for attention just like Daiana Menezes!" It's already so difficult to speak up about being a victim of domestic abuse! And now women will additionally feel the burden of risking looking like they just want attention! Now it's even more embarrassing and confusing for a battered woman to stand up and speak up for herself and for other women! THANKS BUT NO THANKS DAIANA! For your callous, selfish behavior! WHO CARES about your "personal forgiveness" plans or whatever! Think about your position first and the influence you're creating upon society! All you think about is tramping around in your bikinis and making your duck-faces on instagram! Shame on you!
