If only celebrities are not confined to the image that their management team has created; if only celebrities can express their feelings and act the way they want and not be judged; if only every project is a sure box-office winner, then the life of Network Celebrity (NC) would be a breeze and everything would be certain.
Over the years, her management team tried to shape NC to what they thought was best to make her into a reliable star of their company. When NC started out, she was promising, as she seemed to be the complete package, that is, she can sing, dance, and act. Moreover, she appealed to fan groups. She seemed to have everything that would fit the package. A quick reality check indicated that NC lacked something important, that is, the inability to hide who she really is and what she feels. Her actions often betrayed her words. One moment, she can convincingly portray the role of an ideal family member, then, in her real life, she only chooses to relate to certain family members. While that behavior seemed acceptable in certain societies and families, majority of the local fans did not buy into it. Thus, NC could not shake off that tag and succeeding efforts to reach out were deemed “showbiz.”
Then, just as when her career was becoming stable, a choice softened everything she had worked hard for. One move made her bashers come to life and bring out all possible negativity against her. Sadly, the bashing created a ripple effect and things turned uncertain. Projects were delayed and endorsements shied away. Then, NC’s behavior, which was a bit unexplainable, manifested at a critical time for a project. Her management team did not like that stunt and allegedly she was warned to fix things, that is, she must learn to play the field for the sake of her career. She tried, but it was too late. The state of the project would have determined her future endeavors with the management. With new faces coming up, opportunities become narrower and NC might suddenly find herself out in the cold.
