Marriage Is Not Solely His Decision
However, for most celebrities, marriage is a big risk for their career. Their stars could lose glitter once these celebrities proclaim to the world they are committed. For male celebrities, the risk includes losing fans, who prefer their idols to be single. A single actor is more desirable than one who is already committed. This commitment issue is another reason why relationships are hardly made public these days. Hence, the phrase “no labels” had become the buzzword to describe the closeness of an actor and an actress.
Some years ago, Good-looking Actor (GA) thought he had found the woman he wanted to settle down with. GA seemed to have a solid relationship with Talented Starlet (TS) and they seemed seriously bent on settling down. However, things did not turn out that way. Apparently, GA chose his career over TS. Nonetheless, others claimed that GA asked advice from an Influential Insider (II), who reminded him of what he could lose by settling down.
Fearing to lose his career, which is his livelihood, GA followed II. TS was dropped and her disappointment was evident and later on, she even moved stations. Now, years later, GA seems to have found love with Lovely Woman (LW). GA has already matured and seems to be understanding women more, which LW seemed to appreciate. Although they have yet to admit their relationship in public, observation seems to imply ‘what you see is what you get.’
With a more solid career and a secured LW, GA broached the idea of settling down to II. Naturally, II reminded GA again of what he stands to lose. ‘Love or career,” was again the theme of their conversation. From the way things are turning, II loves GA so much. Not only is GA one of his prized talents, II is rumored to have a special fondness for GA. Thus, while GA continues to be with LW, the settling down part might not happen at all soon. Thus, fans who wish to see them end up together might be disappointed. Only when GA will feel that the time is right, will LW probably experience what she had been hoping for. The question is if she could still be willing to wait or if a wedding might happen at all.

Repost: Legal Team of Willie Revillame Preparing for Trial on His Child Abuse Charge

Following the recent decision of the Court of Appeals to affirm the earlier ruling of a Quezon City regional trial court that found probable cause to indict Willie Revillame for violation of the anti-child abuse law, a representative of the embattled TV host’s legal team says he is ready for a “full blown trial.”
“We received last Friday the Order from the Court of Appeals (CA). It denied the Motion for Reconsideration to our Petition for Certiorari where we asked the CA to find no probable and to dismiss without need of trial the case filed by the City Prosecutor for child abuse. The CA held the RTC judge has the discretion to proceed with the trial proper,” said Atty. Leonard de Vera in a text message to News5’s MJ Marfori.
De Vera said his client had accepted the decision. ”In fact, Willie Revillame had voluntarily posted bail way back three years ago. There is no outstanding warrant for his arrest. And the Pretrial has been completed. Willie’s team of lawyers is ready for a full-blown trial. We are confident Justice will prevail,” he added.
The case against Revillame for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child abuse law was filed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in 2011 in response to the public outcry following a viral video of a “macho dancing” performance by a 6-year-old boy as instigated by Revillame in his TV5 game show “Willing Willie.”
“It can be recalled that Mr. Revillame made a six-year-old boy perform gyrating dance movements on national television in an earlier version of his show,” said DSWD Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman last year in welcoming an earlier decision by the Court of Appeals affirming the lower court’s issuance of a warrant of arrest against Revillame for which he subsequently posted bail.

The controversy resulted in the withdrawal of several advertisers from “Willing Willie”, which was subsequently issued a one-month suspension by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.
After the suspension, Revillame returned with a revamped program called “Will Time Bigtime”, which ran until January 2013. It was immediately replaced by “Wowowillie”, which ran for almost nine months until TV5 cancelled it due to poor ratings.
After a hiatus of almost two years, Revillame moved to GMA Network where he has been hosting a game show called “Wowowin”.

Repost: A Vote for Our Future

MAYOR Rodrigo Duterte was our guest at a recent meeting of the Management Association of the Philippines and the Makati Business Club. He is now the frontrunner in the presidential race, and Election Day is only a few days away.
As we consider our final choices, my appeal is that we pause to fully appreciate the implications of our vote. Whatever others may say, the choice of our next president does matter, very much. The reason our economy has done well these past six years, and many more jobs have been created compared to the previous 12, is mainly the improvement in governance provided by President Aquino and his Cabinet, which brought about the confidence investors needed to bring in their investments and create many more jobs.
As the mayor is the frontrunner, he deserves close scrutiny. And the best way to know him is to go by what he has said throughout the campaign. Let us study some key statements that are particularly noteworthy.
The mayor said months ago that there would be a lot of fat fish in our waterways because he will dump there 100,000 suspected criminals whom he will order to be killed. He repeated before the business groups that his standing order to his law enforcers when suspected criminals resist arrest is to kill them—and he will arm the enforcers with presigned pardons so that human rights do-gooders cannot get in their way. He also repeated that if a son of his is found to be a drug offender, he will have him killed. For good measure, the mayor also warned the Office of the Ombudsman, the Commission on Human Rights, and Congress not to block him or interfere with his work. And he added that at the end of his term, he would issue himself a pardon for the crime of multiple murder.
The mayor has threatened on more than one occasion to abolish Congress if it does not cooperate with him, or threatens to impeach him. A few days ago he said he might just form a revolutionary government.
The mayor has also expressed strong admiration for Ferdinand Marcos, whom he believes to be the best president our country has had, a hero who deserves to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. To my knowledge, he has made no statements about the world-class plunder of the Marcoses, the massive human rights abuses, and how Marcos brought our once thriving economy to bankruptcy. He also said on one occasion that he may not be healthy enough to last six years as president, but he looks forward to a state funeral, and would turn over the presidency to Bongbong Marcos.
Of course, there was his famous remark expressing disappointment that he did not have first crack at the rape of an Australian missionary. And lately, he declared some bank accounts with significant deposits to be nonexistent, only to later admit that they do exist after all.
There are probably many more statements that would give us a clearer idea of what kind of person the mayor really is. Many who support him clearly believe that statements like these simply demonstrate the strong, decisive leadership that they find lacking in the current administration. Don’t worry, they say, that’s just tough talk. Don’t worry that the mayor will actually do what he promises.
But surely the mayor and his supporters cannot take offense if we take his statements seriously, for these are certainly no laughing matter. For the sense that his statements convey a distinct lack of respect for the rule of law. And the rule of law is the foundation upon which confidence is built. Of course, peace and order are important, but these must be attained within the confines of the law. Without the rule of law, there will be chaos and anarchy, and no confidence in our country. Without confidence, there will be no investments, and without investments, there will be no jobs. These are not threats, only sheer facts. And it will not be just the business owners and bosses who will suffer, but also thousands of workers and their families who will be deprived of jobs. Remember that peace and order ultimately do not come from the end of the barrel of a gun but from food on the table, access to good education, housing and health.
It is in this context that I fervently appeal that we all review our choices one last time before we vote. Let us not vote out of despair or sheer disgust at an indecisive, slow-responding administration, or the infuriating traffic, or rampant crimes. Let us not go for a solution that may be far worse than the problems we are addressing. Think instead of what your vote will mean for your future and the future of millions of younger Filipinos, including your children or your younger siblings and coworkers. Consider the tremendous cost of the wrong choice.
Focus finally on the leaders we need to build on our gains, and to address the indecisiveness and ineptitude that have deterred our progress. Let us select no less than leaders who embody the decency, honesty, competence, toughness and patriotism that we want, and who have the capacity to bring us all together after the elections, so that we can be one united nation in pursuit of a better life for all Filipinos.
Please vote wisely!

What a Relief
The above list could be longer, but as far as Sympathetic Celebrity (SC) is concerned, the cancellation of His Show (HS) brought him relief and the timing allowed him more free time to focus his attention to issues that matter in the bigger picture. While such justification sounds reasonable and admirable, another reason has made SC receive the last airing of HS with open arms is that he no longer has to work with his fellow talents.
Over time, networks have experimented on various pairings and groupings of their talent. Usually, a program has a couple of big stars, who have consistent following and loyalty. Then, new talents are brought in to see if they would gel with the time-tested talents. Several programs have resulted in good chemistry that the network has made moves to make the cast permanent. This strategy means that the talents could emulate a pleasant and encouraging atmosphere while at the same time, making the audience happy and appreciative of their show.
Unfortunately, SC could not stand the banter of one of his colleagues, namely, Insensitive Talent (IT). Recognized for being a talented host, IT’s weakness is that her spontaneity gets the better of her. In short, her comments are often lacking tact and places people on the spot. While SC does his best to develop rapport with the audience, IT’s words could destroy the pleasantness that SC has built. Besides, IT has a tendency to draw attention to herself with comments and actions. Meanwhile, SC tries so hard to balance the attitude of IT with his humility, but he could only do so much and stand IT for so long.
When management informed SC of the news of the cancellation, he did not make a fuss. He simply took the decision well and looked forward to the next. As for IT, learning a lesson seems quite hard. Although she has the talent, she has to learn to adjust or be flexible, and not let the attitude of ‘I’m already like this’ prevail.

Repost: Iglesia ni Cristo Denies Duterte Endorsement, Vows to Charge Forger
Source: www.newsinfo.inquirer.net
Influential group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) on Monday said it will press charges against the person who forged an endorsement letter with a fake signature of its executive minister Eduardo Manalo.
The letter, which endorses the candidacy of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, has been circulating in social media.
INQUIRER.net sent a copy of the document to INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala who said “the letter is not from Brother Eduardo Manalo.”
“The moment we identify the person/s responsible for this fraudulent ‘letter’ containing the forged signature of Brother Eduardo Manalo, we will charge them in court,” Zabala told INQUIRER.net.
The document, dated May 2, 2016 and marked with the INC logo, is an alleged endorsement of Duterte by the INC executive minister.
“Nakita natin na mabuting ehemplo, may takot sa Diyos, at bukal ng pag-asa ng ating mga kababayan si Rodrigo Duterte,” the letter said.
“Inaasahan ko ang inyong pagtalima sa hindi mapapasubaliang kautusang ito, bilang bahagi ng inyong tungkuling huwag biguin ang aral at utos ng ating Panginoon,” it added.
Zabala said the members should be the first to know if the INC leadership has announced its choices for the May elections.
He said the actual announcement will be “very near the (election) day itself.”
All five presidential candidates—Duterte, Vice President Jejomar Binay, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, Senator Grace Poe and former secretary Mar Roxas—have visited the INC headquarters on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, supposedly to get the support of the influential religious sect.
President Benigno Aquino III on Monday visited Manalo, purportedly to thank the INC for supporting the administration.

Repost: Sharon to Replace Sarah on 'The Voice Kids'
Source: www.news.abs-cbn.com
Veteran actress-singer Sharon Cuneta is excited to be one of the coaches on the third season of "The Voice Kids."
Cuneta will replace Sarah Gernomino, who earlier explained that she wants to concentrate on "ASAP" and hone her talents as an artist.
Cuneta said she is thrilled to join fellow coaches Lea Salonga and Bamboo.
"Sobrang excited ako. I will be part of 'The Voice Kids' with, of course, Bamboo and Lea Salonga," she told ABS-CBN News during her renewal of vows with husband Francis Pangilinan.
But Cuneta's surprises do not end there.
She also teased her fans that she will have "really big" surprise for them this year. This, she said, is the reason why she has not been active on social media for quite a while.
"To all my supporters and fans, my Sharonians whom I love very much, alam kong ang tagal kong nawala sa Facebook, 'di ba? Sadya po 'yon. I have been hibernating," she said.
"I've been hiding because I have been working on myself para i-surprise kayo. Hindi pa ako tapos but I have lost a lot of weight, preparing for something really big."
When asked to spill some details, she just said: "It is a huge, huge surprise na hindi pa talagang puwedeng i-announce. Pero ang masasabi ko lang po, kumapit po kayo ng mahigpit na mahigpit," she added
