Last week, speculations on the state of relationship between Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque shocked the public. Keen followers noticed that Alonzo was no longer wearing her engagement ring in her latest promotion. In addition, many observed that she was also not liking the various posts of Roque. Adding to speculations was the meeting of Alonzo with best friends Dimples Romana and Beatrice So sometime in mid-January. The photo had the caption ‘My unpaid therapists.’
Meanwhile, Roque’s last Instagram entry that had the presence of Alonzo was a photo taken during their trip to Japan in early January. Later, he posted a sleeping photo with their pet Walter. Noticeable was the absence of Alonzo in the photo of his mother’s birthday celebration in mid-January, too.
Before the speculation that something was not right, Roque was interviewed about their wedding plans and if Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will be invited to their wedding. Roque bluntly replied that Kathryn will be invited, but the ex-boyfriend will not be. It is not unknown that Roque and Padilla had a falling out when Roque started to be linked with Alonzo.
Alonzo and Roque were friends, as both worked with ABS-CBN. However, Alonzo was in long-term relationships during that time. Only when the infamous ghosting incident with another actor exploded that Alonzo became single in 2019.
As a friend, Roque was seen keeping Alonzo company and people predicted the two would become an item. The pandemic could have brought them closer. Photos of the two then frequently appeared in their social media accounts. While they were already together officially in January 2021, Alonzo only confirmed their relationship a few months later. Travel videos highlighted their relationship and they were able to spend time with their families here and abroad.
Sadly, Roque had his share of detractors, who accused him of being unworthy of Alonzo because he was not on the same financial status. The couple stood their ground and throughout the years, their relationship was met with positivity.
With the public hungry for updates on their wedding preparations, as they were engaged in July 2023, the two could not avoid interviews. While Roque seemed to be definite with his answers, Alonzo surprised the public with her indefinite answers that kept reporters wondering why she was unsure of her wedding details.
The public now wonders if the engagement and subsequent wedding had been called off. More importantly, people are curious as to the reasons if indeed their plans have changed.
