While freedom of speech is a right and social media is the new form of expressing raw feelings, many netizens have forgotten that limits exist. For example, celebrities are bound to be loyal to their management and expected to be mindful of what they say in interviews and write in their social media accounts. Moreover, contract-bound celebrities are required to behave in the best way possible, as negative posts, reactions, and responses could affect their image.
Expectedly, Expressive Celebrity (EC) was immediately called by the top bosses when they were displeased at her use of social media. EC was reminded that certain projects of the network do not include every talent, as there are expectations, such as the capability to sing and dance convincingly. Lineup changes can happen for valid reasons, as well.
The top bosses expressed their disappointment, too. Out of all their talents, EC was reminded that she has always been with them and never did they let her down. She should have been more mature in her responses. Anyway, if she needs to promote a project, she gets to be invited in shows that could increase her visibility.
On hindsight, some network insiders are already irked at the way EC is handling her troubles. Every negative experience she has becomes a big deal when it gets posted on social media. Hence, her image becomes associated with negativity, which can affect her projects. Besides, she always projects herself as the victim to gain sympathy from her followers and generate hate for her personal antagonists. Thus, instead of EC appearing in all possible shows for promoting her projects, her exposure was limited, such as not performing in any production number.
‘There is a fine line between compassion and a victim mentality. Compassion though is a healing force and comes from a place of kindness towards yourself. Playing the victim is a toxic waste of time that not only repels other people, but also robs the victim of ever knowing true happiness.’ ― Bronnie Ware
