Let Down

A constant practice for any corporation is an assessment of performance. In the entertainment industry, meetings are held after the showing of movies to discuss the plus and minuses. The obvious gauge of a movie’s success is the box-office return, as a movie is, after all, an investment.
When the creative team and the heads of an industry player came for a meeting, they were happy that a Production Talent (PT) was present. The goal of the meeting was to discuss the dismal performance of the project of PT, which was very disappointing for the management. The participants raised their observations over the outcome.
Someone pointed out that the timing of the opening was not well-thought out. Admittedly, the movie seemed to have a wrong playdate, as the screening was scheduled after the opening of a hit movie. The team underestimated the hit movie and realized they were very wrong. As the discussion continued, a staff could not longer contain the disappointment as well and said that PT was uncooperative in the promotions. Hearing that the point was being made about her, PT spoke up and defended herself. She cited that she did her best, but the rest of the cast comprised nobodies and her lead actor was not a box-office draw. Further, PT said that her next project should pair her with Box-Office Leads 1 and 2 (BL1 and BL2, respectively) or someone who can attract people to watch their movie.
At that point, the same staff asked if PT was informed that the idea of partnering with BL1 was already dismissed, as his loveteam partner would rather have peace of mind. Besides, BL1 might be too young for her. The same goes for BL2. Sensing the heat in the room, PT opted to walk out until things cooled down.
Meanwhile, the frustrations were high as the returns showed that the project of PT hardly hit the million mark. That earning would still be divided between the company and theatre owners. Worse, the cheap comedy film the company produced earned more than PT’s project.

Faking the Truth

Dashing Hunk (DH) cannot shake the doubts concerning his sexuality even though he has been paired off with several female talents from his network. In most of his projects, his love interests were played by actresses of various personalities and calibre. Meanwhile, his roles have always been that of straight characters. Thus, no gay roles have been associated with him. Still, the rumors of his true self cannot be stopped regardless of the counter publicity his camp has been making.
One look at DH and no one will doubt. No stereotypical trait of being gay can be seen from him when he’s out in public events. However, when caught in non-private events, rumors start emerging. This time, the rumor involves a noted Non-showbiz Celebrity (NC).
NC is young, like DH, and has a successful career out of showbiz. NC’s path is also among the most sought-after careers that even several showbiz personalities have considered his job as an alternative. NC has made a name for himself and because of his reputation, he has a few endorsements as well. However, he and DH have no obvious public link.
One day, selected guests were happy to be invited to an event. Someone was celebrating his birthday. To the surprise of some of the guests, DH arrived and NC was in tow. Thus, rumors were again sparked, that is, DH has a new love interest in the person of NC. Other than following each other on social media, no photos of the two have surfaced. Well, DH would probably just have to live with the fact that such rumors about him will not easily die.

Naglabas ang kampo ni Kapamilya star JM De Guzman ng statement tungkol sa diumano pagsampa ng isang Pitt Norman Zafra ng complaint na “Frustrated Murder” laban sa aktor at sa isa pang indibidwal. Sinampa ang naturang reklamo sa Office of the City Prosecutor sa Quezon City.
Ayon sa statement, nauna na noong nagsampa ng reklamong “Physical Injuries” si Mr. Zafra laban sa aktor at sa kasamahan diumano nito. Iniatras na rin daw ng parehong complainant ang reklamong “Physical Injuries” noong August 8, 2019.
Ikinagulat diumano ng aktor ang pagsampa ng mas seryosong reklamo ni Mr. Zafra laban sa kanya, na base lang sa parehong “factual circumstances” at reklamong iniatras na niya last month.
Ganunpaman, mas makabubuti daw na ang pagdinig at imbestigasyon ng reklamo ay gawin sa proper venue at hindi sa media.
Dahil rin sa nag-file na ng panibagong complaint si Mr. Zafra, hindi raw fair para sa aktor na ma-preempt ang proceedings dahil na rin sa pagkakalat ng negative publicity ng kampo nila Mr. Zafra laban sa aktor. Hindi pa rin daw nakakapag-conduct ng preliminary investigation ang Investigating Prosecutor ng Quezon City.
Confident diumano ang kampo ng aktor na merong sapat na evidence (testimonial at electronic) si JM na magpapatunay na inosente siya sa mga charges ni Mr. Zafra laban sa kanya.
Lumabas kahapon September 20 ang article sa Abante Tonite kung saan dinetalye ang diumanong pambubugbog na ginawa ni JM at ng MMA fighter at fitness coach na si George Castro sa kanya.
Ayon sa article, nagsimula ang lahat nang magpa-picture si Mr. Zafra at ang “wife” nito kay JM.
