Nervous Reaction

Apprehension often follows the aftermath of any breakup. One party does not know what will happen without the other, and risks are often unsure of returns. Professionally, when a partnership breaks up, the careers of the two parties really have no assurance of success. Although many former love team partners have proven there is life as a single performer, many more faced failures.
As acting is an investment endeavor, management and producers have a hand in charting the course of their talents. Celebrities, regardless of popularity and talent, will have to abide with the decisions of their superiors, especially if they are under contracts and if their projects are failing to deliver. Moreover, career decisions are crucial and disobeying decisions can result in a career disaster.
When Popular Celebrity (PC) was presented a project that would finally break her free from her loveteam, she faced the proposal with much excitement and looked forward to the cast. After discussions on the project, PC realized that the project was a risk and the outcome could affect her career. The results could either make or break her and she will need as much support to ensure success.
PC suddenly felt apprehension when she saw the lineup of performers. The actors in the list were not exactly as popular and successful as her Team Mate (TM). First, one had no mass appeal and even if he had been in the business for some time, has no solid following nor box-office record. Second, the other is not really known and would be considered as a struggling actor even with his being part of showbiz royalty. Third, more popular than the other two and comparable with TM, this actor’s record had turned from good to worse. His last projects were dismal. Quickly, his management had to make changes in his career and before he was placed in the waiting game, he bolted out.
Hence, PC felt that the project would have to be extremely good, as they all have something to prove. She approached the production team and expressed to them her wish for an impressive movie and more highlights in her scenes to show her talent. In return, she promised to do her best.
The added pressure on PC is that TM has his own list of projects, which are already being predicted to be box-office winners. Thinking ahead, PC knows that the outcomes of their projects would be compared, and she can only count on her fandom for support. Similarly, TM has his own fans, but not all of them like PC enough. Sometimes, PC gets bashed by TM’s fans, who easily pinpoint to her whenever he gets into negative predicaments.

Social media can be a powerful tool for professional endeavors. Many celebrities have used their social media accounts to generate more income and followers. Some even express their views on society and politics, and others have mainly used non-mainstream channels to advertise themselves.
Nonetheless, most social media users have not forgotten the primary purpose of social media, i.e., expressing one’s personal agenda and even emotions at times. Thus, followers are alert in sensing a possible breakdown or a cheap potshot.
When Haughty Performer (HP) decided to post intriguing photos in her social media account, followers merely thought that the photos were ordinary posts. However, some people who are in the know have realized that the postings were quite loaded with insinuations.
Allegedly, HP was offended at the way Other Celebrity (OC) made public her various views and reactions on certain issues that affected HP indirectly. OC is one personality who can get what she wants because she could and her ways are always within boundaries. Thus, HP felt that OC might be hinting at dislodging her soon even if the statement was said in jest and not even directed at her. Subsequently, HP realized that she can never match the magnanimous generosity of OC when it comes to treating the press. HP might have the money, but she is not known for splurging even if it’s for a good cause, such as doing PR.
Despite all those reasons, the major motivation was the support and praise being given by OC to Cute Couple (CC). HP does not like the idea that OC’s positive words for CC might affect Someone Close (SC) to her. CC and SC are rivals and obviously, HP would do everything to promote SC and ensure they ought to deserve the best.
So, to get back at OC, HP knew where to strike. Rather than do a straight confrontation, HP did her deed in a very subtle way. Temptation was so strong for various reactions and the public waited if OC would take the bait. Unfortunately for HP, OC had so much control that she refrained from reacting too much. OC then used the attempt to drag her into controversy to her advantage. By behaving well, OC put one over HP, even if people suspect that she could have, at the very least, been slighted by the out of the blue photos of HP.
