Meaningless Match

A long-term relationship is never a guarantee that both parties would already know all the secrets of each partner. For others, knowing a well-kept secret can be tolerated, but for some, the truth can break the relationship apart. Most people often fall in the latter, and new knowledge can change perspectives, which have no regard for the years spent of being together.

When Showbiz Newbie (SN) started making a name for herself, she immediately revealed she was committed to Good-looking Guy (GG). SN did not succumb to the usual denial and hiding of partners for the sake of her career. She laid down her cards, and she was admired for being honest. She did not keep secrets to her fans. As the two looked happy together, speculations focused on their eventual settling down.

Then, just as everything seemed smooth, GG proposed to SN. Friends were contacted and they were all excited. GG asked permission from the family of SN. Then, nearing proposal day, the family told SN to think if she would want to spend the rest of her life with GG. That question made SN think hard and suddenly the pros and the cons started to sink in. While marriage is indeed a sign that GG loves SN, what worried SN was how GG would be able to support their potential family. GG has the looks, but he really does not have a stable career that can bring in the financial resources needed to raise a family these days.

Thus, when the big day came and GG proposed, SN gave the dreaded answer. “No!” Everyone was shocked, as they were all ready to post in social media. SN said that she wanted to focus on her career, and being young, she was still trying to get the most of life. GG was stunned, and the number of years they had spent together seemed to have become meaningless.

However, things are far more complicated. The family of SN wondered about how GG was able to support himself without a stable job. Then, the grapevine delivered shocking news. GG allegedly goes by because he has many booking gigs with wealthy older women and gays. Apparently, one of the friends of the family of SN found out the secret of GG and immediately told what was found out.

The family had no choice but to tell SN that GG was not the man they thought him to be. SN was very disappointed and resorted to breaking up with GG after the proposal.

Repost: Tito Sotto to Skip Eat Bulaga After Assuming Senate Presidency

Senate President Vicente Sotto III will not be seen in the long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! following his election to the topmost position of the chamber.

“Wala, papaalam muna ako,” Sotto told reporters when asked on the matter.

“Hindi na siguro (kahit Thursday to Saturday), mag-uusap kami nina Vic at Joey saka ni Tony Tuviera,” he added.

Sotto usually acts as one of the hosts of Eat Bulaga! whenever there is no Senate session.

He admitted that he is feeling a little stressed with all the measures the chamber must pass into law.

“(I am) a little stressed because I am looking at the incoming measures that have to be tackled. Nakakalula. But siyempre we have to rely on our experience and the help of my colleagues, the Senate President will not be able to do it alone,” he said.

Sotto was elected as Senate President after 16 senators, including former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III, signed a resolution calling for the chamber’s reorganization.

Prior to his election, Sotto served as majority floor leader.

She’s Too Good

The entertainment industry can be cruel to talents to the point of controlling almost every action of a bankable personality. Tired Talent (TT) is the example of how a celebrity has pleased her fans and her family throughout her career but seems still performing way below expectation of the latter. While everyone adores TT, her family cannot even let her decide the course of her life, as they know how to get to her.

In one of her performances, TT was so moved by one of her songs that she shocked the audience with a rare lapse. Naturally, the situation caused panic, as TT showed her vulnerability, which could be taken advantage of by others. Allegedly, TT was indeed affected, as she suddenly realized how far she has gone in her career but with so little for herself.

After a successful project, TT requested for a vacation with Cute Hunk (CH). Initially, she was given her request and she was so excited. Then, her request was taken back, as an opportunity to earn arose. TT, who has a soft spot for her fans, agreed and her plans with CH were thwarted. The opportunity to distance TT from CH was much of a reprieve for Influential Relative (IR). IR felt that TT and CH might do something if they are once again left together. IR feels that TT might allow herself to get pregnant or even runaway with CH. Sometime ago, TT hinted that she should be allowed to settle down, as she has already set IR and the rest for their future and all assets are not even in her name. However, IR would not hear of it.

Thus, after that lapse, IR gave a long lecture to TT and warned that she will do everything to prevent TT from seeing CH. To control the damage and pretend that TT had just a shallow incident of fatigue, a spiel was prepared. Thus, TT had her ready explanation soon after.

Incidentally, CH knows about the heartaches of TT and assured her that he can fend for the two of them. He has businesses and can live even away from the limelight. After all, he feels that it is his duty to provide for TT, who has known nothing but work for most of her life.

The trend of buying high-end bags seems to be maintaining its consistency. Even non-celebrities are saving money to purchase a designer bag. While owning a designer bag is considered as status symbol, business research has indicated that purchasing such bags are worthwhile investments. An article even claimed that designer bags are better investments than stocks, gold, or even real estate. That is, of course, if one would be ready to part with the bags later on.

Local celebrities are still into owning designer bags, but recently, the public has placed premium on owning real or authentic bags. Over the years, enterprising people have taken advantage of the trend by manufacturing replicas. As technology develops, the replicas can pass off as the real products, as replica manufacturers use the same material as the original products. Only highly trained experts can sometimes distinguish the fake from the original. As most people are untrained, replica owners earn praises for their choice of fake bags.

Other than seeing replicas in certain shopping areas, many sellers have kept their business only to a limited number of clients. Being caught with such goods means high fines and even a jail term. Thus, a Replica Seller (RS) has been careful in transactions and sending the merchandise to buyers. Allegedly, one of the top clients of RS is Known Personality (KP).

Over the years, KP has had a reputation for being among the most appropriately dressed celebrities and has been admired for fashion style and her overall look. Even the bags KP carries around do not escape the eye of her fans and bashers. On the one hand, her fans adore her choices; on the other hand, bashers lambast her look and accuse her of not having her own fashion identity.

The transaction between RS and KP has been going on for a time. Photos of products are online and actually look as closely as authentic products. Clients then place an order if he/she likes what she sees. Being based out of the country, RS is clueless as to what KP means to local fans. Nonetheless, as long as sales are made, sellers would not really care as to the people who buy their stuff.
