Authorities on Friday arrested actor Julio Diaz and another suspect in a buy-bust operation in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.
Bulacan Provincial Police Office Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat said that Diaz (real name: Mariano de Leon) is listed as a high-value target. He was arrested along with Ronald Gomez at around 12:40 a.m.
Diaz and Gomez were arrested after they were caught selling a sachet containing suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P500.
Seized from the suspects were four sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 12 grams and street value of P60,000, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.
The suspects and seized evidence were brought to the Bulacan crime laboratory office for the appropriate examination.
Criminal complaints against the two suspects are still being prepared for the filing in court.
Diaz was previously included in the drugs watch list of Meycauayan Police Station.
Authorities were prompted to conduct an operation after they discovered that Diaz was allegedly involved in illegal drugs. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG/KBK, GMA News

A Change in Love

Over the years, the sexuality of Male Talent (MT) has always been a favorite subject of speculations. While he has been in the entertainment industry for several years, no female actress has been linked with him successfully and no mention of a girlfriend has ever made showbiz columns. Then, photos of MT hanging around with good-looking men seemed to hint at his preference.
Speculations seem to have a degree of confidence as MT would sometimes be caught posting photos that have similar features as the photos of an Alleged Partner (AP). Although most photos would be solo shots, the background and even time would be similar, which prompted assumptions. As AP is not from showbiz, not much is known about him in mainstream media.
Lately, followers of MT noticed that he has been hardly traveling out of the country, and thus, guesses on the state of his alleged relationship with AP was again revived. This time, the point of the rumors was the opposite, that is, whatever MT had with AP was over.
Fueling such rumor is that AP has been allegedly spotted with a Social Media Personality (SP) overseas. As part of his job, SP gets to travel to many of the beautiful places around the world, and this time, AP is with his team. In other words, MT seems to have been dumped by AP.
These days, MT is working on projects that might use his previous controversies to draw up interest. At least, MT is no longer piqued and has gained more control of his initial reactions. Hopefully, MT will finally find his happiness if not in love, then, perhaps, in his career.

Karma Comes Around

Strike when the iron is hot, indeed. When the camp of Versatile Actor (VA) believed he was hot, they wasted no time in negotiating with a Product Endorsement (PE). Sometime ago, VA’s career took a turning point when he starred in a challenging role, which made him and the name of his character a household name. He even won awards for his role, and for a young actor, such recognition early in his career meant so many possibilities.
It was around this time that PE invited VA to join their company as an endorser. Thus, VA and His Camp (HC) went to the appointment. HC comprised of family relations and apparently, no one from his station came with them. As the contract terms were presented, VA kept quiet, as HC did the talking and negotiating. The people behind PE were shocked at the demands made by HC. They were demanding more than the proposed talent fee, allowances, and accommodations for VA’s and HC if he needs to go out of town. The proposal could only allocate so much and accommodations were limited to the endorser plus one.
The first meeting ended with PE’s representatives promising to bring up the matter of the demands to the higher management. Meanwhile, HC brought home many of the company’s products.
During the second meeting, PE’s team presented on top of the higher talent fee, a couple of business opportunities, a couple of food carts, which were worth quite a hefty fee. When HC heard this additional offer, they freaked out and insisted that they wanted cash. The attitude of HC was a turn off. However, PE’s team tried to salvage the situation by requesting HC to agree first on the terms of the contract and negotiate for more upon renewal, which was the usual practice for first-time endorsers. Then, HC said that VA was a big actor and they wanted an offer that was befitting of his status. HC even stressed that the sales of PE would dramatically increase if VA is their endorser and thus, their demands should be met. The company did not agree.
A year later, staff members who were at the first meetings were shocked to see VA and only his handler at the office again. Facing a new head, VA allegedly said that the initial team did not take care of them well. When the staff members heard VA’s claim, they felt very disappointed and aghast that VA could speak that way. With a career status now, which is so different from a year ago, VA suddenly became easy to talk with and the contract signing was going to be finalized. Of course, the staff members could only smirk knowing that VA’s star has already faded and his career is back to doing supporting roles.
