Non-Engaging Guest

Difficult Personality (DF) might find herself in fewer out of town shows if she continues with her antics. Between teleseryes, celebrities fill up their time by booking themselves in provincial shows and shooting endorsements. Usually, performing for an hour or so can be lucrative and some celebrities charge even higher than their daily rate for work in a teleseryes. Hence, some talents prefer guesting in provincial shows, as the money is easier and all they have to do is to please the crowd in less time that they devote to taping.

During the show, DF was among an impressive lineup of singers and funny performers. The performers were well applauded and the audience was looking forward to the finale, and that was DF. Known as a singer, DF can carry a tune, but on stage, many were disappointed. Instead of fully singing her song, she asked for audience participation, which is a common practice to get the crowd involved. The host suggested inviting a Young Male (YM) relative of the host. Quickly, YM made his way onstage without fear, as it was his hometown crowd anyway.

The crowd cheered at seeing YM in front of them, but DF totally ignored him and chose a couple of young girls from the audience. DF made the girls dance, but they were awful. As DF was unhappy, she left the two at the side of the stage. Then, she picked another one. This time, the person gamely sang, but the crowd noticed that DF hardly sang afterwards and she allowed the person to sing most of the lyrics.

As is customary, photo ops followed. The other performers gamely posed with the crowd and interacted with them. By contrast, DF stayed away as much as she could from having photos with people onstage. Of course, some of these personalities are influential in the town, and the attitude of DF did not go unnoticed. What the crowd could not understand is that the previous performers were very amiable, but DF was too aloof. Towards the end of the performance, the other performers were much applauded, whereas DF experienced the audience merely clapping out of politeness.

Despite the negative personality that DF is known for, she could often get away with it. On cam and with known people, DF seems to exude a very sweet image. Her projects are well received and her partnerships with various leading men always get her fans swooning. Nonetheless, feedback from out of town performances might have repercussions sooner than expected.

Betrayed Loyalty

Friendships formed in showbiz are admired, as celebrities often lament the lack of true or real people in their workplace. Thus, the public keeps watch on prominent best friends and even call such relationships as their goals. Even if they are celebrities, they still demand acceptance, loyalty, and honesty in their friendships. Close friends are expected to be invited and make time for events for the clique. However, when observers noticed the absence of One Friend (OF) in a monumental occasion, speculations were raised.

Usually, OF would be in the company of This Group (TG) comprising of various talents coming from different sectors of the industry. They seemed to share the same interests and similar backgrounds, and thus, they are expected to be trustworthy and keep each other’s secrets. One time, TG met, but OF was not with them and as people know, the one who is absent in a gathering is usually the one talked about.

As the gathering was going on, Another Member (AM) of TG started babbling about OF. AM started talking about how OF was allegedly having an affair with a Married Man (MM). The relationship was very serious, but OF had to make a choice as their relationship resulted in an unplanned event. To prevent a scandal, OF had to resort to a major decision. AM continued talking, not aware that Someone Else (SE) was listening intently.

After the gathering, SE immediately relayed to OF what AM was telling about her. OF felt betrayed, as she never thought that her so-called friends would gossip about her. Thus, she avoided TG and skipped the major event. Moreover, her presence in that event would also attract questions as to when she will be following herself. Her absence avoided the awkwardness of such situations.

As to the reason why AM decided to tell such a story about OF could have stemmed from her friendship with the wife of MM and a bit of guilt. Allegedly, AM was responsible for introducing OF to MM, who allegedly had another third party long before OF entered the picture. Nonetheless, the loyalty of AM was with the other person and not with OF, who thought that everyone in TG was worthy of her friendship.
