Other than performing in television programs, acting in movies, and appearing in endorsements, celebrities make a killing in agreeing to grace corporate events. For a certain number of songs or a dance number, a celebrity can earn much in a couple of hours. However, corporate shows bring more than money to the performer, as the close proximity of the celebrity with a selected group usually results in appreciation and loyalty coming from the audience. By contrast, an aloof celebrity could lead to the audience being turned off, and this reaction could be damaging because the experience is first-hand.

When a big company contacted the management of Popular Talent (PT) to request for her presence in their event, the management granted the request at a right price, of course. As one of the guests, the company had prepared a program to accommodate all the celebrities. Everyone had a schedule and the production team was sticking to it. On the day itself, the camp of PT called up the production to inform them that PT was on her way and wanted her to perform late morning instead of the mid-afternoon schedule that was agreed upon earlier.

The production had no choice and program was redone to fit PT in the morning segment. PT arrived a few minutes before their requested schedule. The production team asked if she could stay in the holding tent, which was part of courtesy and all. PT refused and opted to stay in her vehicle. Then, she also sent word that she will not have any photo op the moment she gets off her SUV and walks towards the stage. Again, the instruction was repeated that no photos are allowed. The ‘no photo’ rule applied to the client as well.

The breaking of the schedule and the unreasonable instruction to have no photos taken were turn-offs for the production people and it was just a matter of time before the client gets wind of the attitude of PT. Her bratty behavior seemed too much for someone of her status. However, someone must have whispered the importance of the client, and PT agreed to have a photo with the client, but this shoot was more of a group photo op.

The production people could not help but compare PT with a major Female Star (FS) of the rival network. Despite her achievements, popularity, and sometimes referred to as ‘queen,’ FS attended the event without any fuss and conditions. Meanwhile, PT has been known for her snobbish behavior and her not so well-performing projects lately.
