A Real Jerk
One lesson that senior stars emphasize is good camaraderie that covers every person in the industry. Hence, friendliness and sincerity should not be limited to top management solely, but extended to the least of the people in the production staff. After all, the key to a successful endeavor in movies or television is the quality of work the production brings to the project.
When Second Chance actor (SC) revived his career, his former network gave him opportunities to regain his once significant stature. SC was given marked roles in various projects, which allowed the younger audience to see why he was once a top actor among his generation. Unlike a number of his contemporaries, SC is not as popular with the younger generation despite the works he has done and contributions to the network during his prime. Still, the network was kind and gave him the chance to get his groove back. Besides, the younger ones could learn a thing or two about acting from him.
Offcam, however, SC was his usual cocky self and rubbed his co-workers in the wrong way. Instead of being humble, SC came off as arrogant and proud. He allegedly seemed to be too sure of himself. Thus, the co-workers felt he was throwing his weight around. At some point, the staff even complained that SC was becoming a cause of delay. Despite his attitude behind the cameras, the project was delivering well, and the production decided to extend the project. However, when his attention was called and he was asked to cooperate as more scenes and plot twists had to be shot, SC took it negatively. He responded in English and in an angry tone. For some, extending a series is positive news, yet SC viewed the development differently.
As his project was nearing the end, SC showed his displeasure by prioritizing a personal matter instead of seeing the project until the very end. To save the final episodes, the production allegedly had to film with a standee or a double to simulate the presence of the character of SC. Since that incident, the presence of SC on primetime has become scarce even if that project was phenomenal.

Radio-TV personality and now president of 8 Trimedia Broadcasting Network Kaye Dacer aired her sentiments about Kapuso actor Aljur Abrenica, as she revealed he still owes her P1.3 million.
The supposed longtime debt concerns a house, reportedly located at Scout Fuentebella in Quezon City, formerly owned by Dacer which she sold to Abrenica.
In an unexpected revelation at a press conference for her presidency at 8 Trimedia, the issue was suddenly brought up during discussions, which led the broadcaster to talk about it and explain.
According to the “Action Lady,” she initially valued the house at P32 million but eventually compromised with Abrenica for 19 million. But since Abrenica’s acquisition of the house, the actor has ceased communicating with her, leaving behind an outstanding balance of P1.3 million.
In her recent interview with entertainment columnist and talent manager Ogie Diaz on DZMM, she said that it is Abrenica’s negligence of the matter that disappointed her the most.
“Ang masakit lang do’n, hindi naman ‘yung pera, eh… ‘yung (What hurts is not the [issue about the] money itself, but [him ceasing from] communicating with me as if nothing happened, ‘di ba? Nanahimik ako, ang tagal kong nanahimik, eh (I kept quiet, I was quiet for so long),” Dacer revealed.
“Kasi para bang… ayoko namang umabot ako sa punto na para akong namamalimos sa halagang ganu’n lang when you know very well your responsibility, ‘di ba? ‘Wag naman sana akong dumating do’n sa punto na para akong mamamalimos,” she explained.
(It’s like, I don’t want to get to the point where it would appear like I am begging for such an amount, when you [Abrenica] know very well your responsibility, right? I hope this does not get to the point when I would look like I’m begging.)
She said she did not bother Abrenica or his family since then, because she was hoping for them to make the initiative to go to her. Recently, Dacer already sent a text message to Abrenica’s mom, but still to no avail.
She also clarified that she did not force her house to Abrenica, and that it was him [and his family] who liked the house and insisted on buying it.
“In the first place, hindi ko naman isinubo sa kanila ‘yung bahay ko. Kasi nu’ng nakita nila ‘yon, nagustuhan nila ‘yung bahay. So ‘yon lang, parang masakit lang,”
(In the first place, I did not force my house to them. They liked the house when they saw it. So that’s it, I just feel hurt.)
Dacer however declared that she does not plan to file charges against the actor. She only wants him to realize his responsibility and his negligence.
“Ang sa akin lang, I want him to realize that he still owes me. ‘Yon lang ang sa akin. Sana naman maisip niya na may responsibilidad pa siyang natakbuhan na napakatagal nang panahon,” she added.
(As for me, I [just] want him to realize he still owes me. That’s it. I hope he realizes he still has a responsibility which he ran away from, and has not been settled for so long.)
Abrenica has not yet spoken about the issue. He’s also showed inactivity on social media, as his last Twitter post as of this writing was on March 7.

The camp of Liza Soberano would not think twice if the Darna role would be offered to the young actress.
In a report by entertainment site Push, Ogie Diaz, who co-manages the showbiz career of Soberano, was quoted as confirming that Soberano is indeed one of the choices to don the red-and-gold costume of the superheroine in the upcoming movie adaptation.
Diaz said it would be a great privilege for Soberano to be the next Darna considering the roster of actresses who have already took on the role.
“Isa siya sa mga choices,” he said. “Maraming may gusto na gumanap pa ring Darna. Imagine-in mo ‘yung history ng mga gumanap na Darna, like si Ate Vi (Vilma Santos). So kung si Liza ang mapipili for the role, siyempre tatanggapin namin.”
Meanwhile, Diaz also commented on the popular opinion of many, including Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach herself, that Soberano would make a good beauty queen.
“Paano kung hindi siya manalo? Sa tingin ko hindi niya na naman kailangang sumali sa Binibining Pilipinas dahil Liza Soberano na siya," he said.
“Ang dapat sumali sa Binibining Pilipinas, 'yung mga baguhan lang, na kung mananalo sila ay makakatulong sa kanila 'yung title,” Diaz added.
The talent manager further said Soberano has a very packed schedule that she won’t be able to give ample time to train for beauty pageants.
“Ang dami-dami niyang raket kaya hindi niya na mabibigyan ng oras ‘yung training para sa Binibining Pilipinas," he said.

Longing Anticipation
Although fans started pushing for their idols, management executives have also made their suggestions. Powerful Insider (PI) proposed Youthful Actress (YA), but this suggestion was put in question because the role would change the image of YA, and physically, her features would not fit the original plan of the creator. PI then named Beautiful Icon (BI), but she had already said that despite her interest, her career path was not leading to such direction.
As the project was up for grabs, an Industry Mover (IM) hinted that they were volunteering Controversial Talent (CT) for the role. CT has many followers and supporters and would fit the role. Besides, she would not have problems on daring scenes, as she has already gone mature in her roles, unlike YA. Moreover, IM has the means and resources to venture into a huge production.
When Influential Personality (IP) found out, she reviewed the last projects of CT, and the returns were not as impressive. Besides, the management wanted someone who hails from their station. While rumors have it that a short list has been made, no name has really stood out amidst all the talk for the role.
While the search for the next talent is in frenzy, talks about the real reason why Patient Personality (PP) was taken out still persist. It seems that not every fan was convinced of the reason why PP was dropped. According to the grapevine, the producer could not wait anymore, as PP had to deal with many personal and professional issues in the past months. Besides, based on the roots of the story, PP might not fit the iconic role anymore. As such, all her patience for waiting for the time for the cameras to roll and her hard work in preparing for the role was wasted. As a professional, she had to abide by the decision of the management.
To save PP and her fans from falling into deeper disappointment and to assure them that the network cares for her, PP was offered a role in another high profile project involving Likable Celebrity (LC) and Enterprising Talent (ET). PP was going to be joined by Dashing Actor (DA), and their partnership would definitely pull in more viewers. The camp of LC did not like the idea at all. Making PP and DA join the project of LC and ET might result in the previous experience, whereby an older loveteam overshadowed the younger couple. Thus, the camp of LC informed the team of ET to air the concern. Someone from the team of ET went to the production and sounded off their wish that the project should focus on LC and ET, and PP and DA should not be given as much attention.
However, the stature of PP and DA cannot be of secondary status, as both have proven their worth in terms of box-office receipts and acting recognition. Would these talks affect the anticipated comeback of PP and further disappoint her fans? Again, the waiting begins.
