The movie Felix Manalo was the big winner at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Inc. (FAMAS) Awards 2016, held at the Century Park hotel on Sunday, December 4.

The movie won 5 awards including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director For Joel Lamangan, Best Theme Song, and Best Actor for Dennis Trillo.

Andi Eigenmann was named Best Actress for the movie Angela Markado.

A Love Turned Callous

Falling in love sometimes happens at the most unexpected time and place. Often, vulnerability allows feelings and emotions to get the better of a person when a circumstance disguises itself as love. When Network Celebrity (NC) and Award Winner (AW) went on location to shoot for a project, no one anticipated that distance would make them fall for each other. No one took them seriously, as chemistry seems to be amiss. Besides, at that time, both were still hanging on to dubious relationships, and fans of NC hoped she would find someone better than her previous partner.

Apparently, distance and days of togetherness brought the two together. Despite all the negative stories concerning the behind the scene behavior of AW, NC took him in and accepted all his frivolities. After some time, they were both accepted as a couple and became the favorite of followers. However, soon after things seemed settled, rumors of the two having differences arose. Both kept quiet, but later on, admitted that their relationship was over.

One day, a photo showing them together spread all over the Internet. After a long time, they were finally seen together, smiling at that. Cheers came from their followers and assumptions of a reconciliation filled social media accounts. Unfortunately, no such thing will happen soon.

Every photo has a story and the assumptions were not close to reality. On that day, AW was having a quiet time in the said venue when NC arrived. Someone spotted AW and immediately told NC, who rushed to see him. Despite everything that happened, AW still has a soft spot in the heart of NC, who might be having a hard time forgetting what AW could do that makes her happy. Thus, with NC arriving, the scene was set and the photo was taken. AW had to give the attention to NC because snubbing her would have led to a scene at the place.

Still, the big question centers on the reason for their breakup. While there was no rumored third party then, no concrete reason surfaced. However, another angle is that AW does not want to give in to the dream of NC, which is to settle down permanently like what most of her peers have done. Thus, AW would rather be non-committal than be miserable if he were to marry NC. Besides, these days, NC found his Latest Bed Partner (BP), who like him is single and is not keen on having any serious commitment as her last one ended as quickly as it started. Meanwhile, to hide her hurt, NC had to use her wit to come up with lines to gain a laugh or two from her followers. Thus, AW and NC are truly over and any reconciliation will not happen at all.
