Must Surely be a Catch Somewhere
In showbiz, several celebrities are known to have been raised by strict parents or guardians. For example, during the younger days of Acclaimed Celebrity (AC), her mother and manager did not allow suitors. Both wanted AC to concentrate on her career. Thus, any man who came forward was closely scrutinized by the two guardians. Then, no one would forget how Feisty Mom (FM) took back her Teenage Daughter (TD) when she eloped with then heartthrob. Naturally, TD was hysterical, but FM was stern and kept telling her strictness was for the good of her child. Years later, TD had indeed accomplished much in her career and love life.
Today, some parents are still infamous for being the hindrance for their showbiz children to enjoy perks of a teenager. For example, Wholesome Personality (WP) was never allowed to entertain boys when she was young. Whenever a co-worker showed interest in WP, expect her father or mother to put his/her foot down. The parents wanted WP to focus on her career and journey towards financial stability. In one instance, an Alleged Secret Boyfriend (AB) was rumored to have engaged in a fistfight with a family member because of his relationship with WP.
Then, when WP developed closeness with Rumored Young Playboy (RY), the parents were often raising their eyebrows at his presence. Unfortunately, WP was too in love with RY, but he realized he was not match for the web of control imposed by the family. He left WP and found another person to fall in love with.
Finally, Brave Boy (BB) confidently tried to win the heart of WP and her family. BB was in love and risked rejection from the family of WP. However, the family could see no fault in BB, as hardly has he been involved in any nasty rumor and he has an impressive background. Moreover, BB came from a well-to-do and stable family, which proved he did not really have to work for a living and that he was raised well. Despite all these brownie points, BB faced the wrath of the family.
However, BB is musing over the recent development in the way he is being treated by the family. If they were very strict with him, now, they were kind and allowed him to visit without any restrictions. Then, he could now invite WP anywhere without having to hide from her family. This opposite attitude continues to puzzle BB. While this major question hovers, BB continues to take advantage of the situation by spending much time with WP. What could have changed the attitude of the family towards BB?
‘If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things.’ ― René Descartes

Broadcast industry leader GMA Network and APT Entertainment team up with Hollywood and Korean film producers David Shim and Choi Pyung Ho for a movie project which will soon hit cinemas in the country.
The parties signed today, September 9, a memorandum of agreement to formalize their collaboration, which aims to combine the best of what the Philippine and South Korean entertainment can offer.
Present during the signing held at the GMA Network Center were Atty. Felipe L. Gozon (Chairman and CEO, GMA Network); Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr. (President and COO, GMA Network); Felipe S. Yalong (EVP and CFO, GMA Network); Ari P. Chio (VP for Investor Relations, GMA Network); Angela Javier Cruz (VP for Corporate Affairs and Communications, GMA Network), Antonio P. Tuviera, (Chairman, APT Entertainment); Michael B. Tuviera, (CEO, APT Entertainment); Jojo C. GMA and APT Entertainment are coming off the box-office success of the Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza-starrer Imagine You and Me and both are very excited to work with their Korean partners.
“This is an exciting time for us in GMA and we consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to work with Korean producers who are known for creating blockbuster hits in Hollywood and Korea,” said Atty, Gozon.
“We’ve been looking forward to doing a collaboration with other movie outfits to be able to present fresher, newer, ideas and executions. And GMA is very kind to bring us in together with our foreign partners. I’m sure we will be able to present quality entertainment to the movie going public,” shared Mr. Tuviera.
“Maganda itong development because it’s a combination of three great organizations, we have GMA, we have APT Entertainment and then the Korean team, who are very knowledgeable about movie making. It’s a great opportunity for the Philippine movie industry and we’re looking forward to the success of the venture,” Mr. Yalong added.
After producing several movies in Hollywood and South Korea, among them Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, American Beauty, JSA, and Myung Ryang, to name a few, David Shim and Choi Pyung Ho revealed that they are now ready to break into the Philippine movie market.
“With the experience and expertise accumulated over the past 20 years in film making both in Hollywood and Korea, Choi and I will work with GMA and APT in providing what should be a truly "ground-breaking" level of motion picture experience to the Philippine audience,” said Shim. (30)
