The Moment When Doubt Creeps Into Love

Having true friends is hard to find in the entertainment industry. The idea that players in the industry have self-interests and are believers of ‘what’s in it for me’ often results in the perception that most are hypocrites and people will take advantage of kindness and gullibility. Thus, any friendship that has been forged and tested is valued in the industry. Still, newbies have to learn to figure out who among the people they would meet in and out of the industry are true or are just there to take advantage of their acquaintance.

Regardless of status, however, some friends meddle in the affairs of a friend, and this interference might not be welcomed. The usual excuse for expressing opinion on the status of issues is that the advice is done sincerely and for showing care to the party concerned. When it comes to love, advice that prevents the pursuit of the love interest could be disastrous.

Well, Versatile Celebrity (VC) should be elated that his close friends (CF) have opted not to hinder his present moments. They could see that VC is happy and relishes every opportunity to be with his Present Date (PD). Although VC knows that his friends are not in favor of PD, he appreciates that they are letting him be. However, the CFs have also been giving advice to VC on the effect PD has on him.

In addition, the CFs are also reminding VC of how he let go of Clingy Girlfriend (CG), and they fear that PD might end up too attached to him or become worse than CG. After all, despite not having made their relationship official, VC has been siding with PD to the point of losing objectivity and becoming crankier more than ever.

Short of saying that they abhor PD, the CFs know that VC is carefully thinking of their advice. Whereas the challenge of keeping PD in his life is tempting, circumstances are adding small instances of doubt if PD is indeed worth his lifetime. After all, his former relationships had brought out the best of his wit and amiable personality. This time, the CFs have noticed the effect of PD on VC and it’s not too pleasant.

Only VC knows the desires of his heart and his intentions for PD. One could not help think that VC might be doing his actions because his nature of protecting the weak is getting the best of him, just like the knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress. Nonetheless, being with PD runs the risk of losing friends and followers. If PD conquers the heart of VC, then the public, family, and CFs will just have to accept the couple.

One of the privileges of belonging to the press is obtaining access to certain events with just a pass. The pass is the ticket to exclusive events and access to VIPs. For example, with a pass, a news personality can gain entry to places where ordinary people are prohibited to enter. The pass could even allow for interviews of international celebrities, who are usually guarded by tight protocol. Having the pass is surely a perk of covering events.

However, using the pass could sometimes be abused and the holder thinks he/she has a privilege that should be granted. Sometimes, using a pass could be taken advantage of the holder by stretching the restrictions a bit. In other words, pass holders could sometimes linger around even after the event covered by the pass is over. Nonetheless, press people often police their ranks and at times, responsible press people shun their colleagues who abuse such right.

When News Personality (NP) was assigned to cover a major event at a huge venue, NP came prepared and as usual, took time to observe and note incidents that could be incorporated to her feed. NP is a celebrity in her own right, and thanks to her media exposure, her face is familiar to the public. Therefore, when NP found herself in a very tempting opportunity, she took advantage of the situation.

After she did her duty, NP stayed a bit longer at the venue and a few minutes before the event started, she saw vacant seats in the most expensive section of the area. She made her way and sat on one of the chairs. The event was about to start in a few minutes when the owners of the seats arrived. The venue was packed and each seat corresponded to a value that could be already an arm and a leg for the ordinary fan. Hence, every seat is quite valuable.

The ticket holders then told NP that those were their seats. Instead of standing up and apologizing, NP gave them a blank stare and raised an eyebrow. Her frown indicated that she seemed to have no intention of leaving. To avoid confrontation, one of the ticket holders called an usher to ask NP to leave. The moment NP saw the usher approaching, she left and moved away. Had she given the usher a hard time, NP would definitely have made headlines. Such a negative incident might reflect on her network that prides itself of leadership.
