Repost: ‘Pastillas Girl’ Mother Shot and Killed in Caloocan
Source: www.newsinfo.inquirer.net/
The mother of a television noontime show star known as ”Pastillas Girl” was shot and killed Sunday night in Caloocan City.
A report by Radyo Inquirer said the victim, Teresa Yap alias ”Teteng”, was shot at the head from behind by one of several assailants as she and a companion were about to have dinner at a restaurant along Tagaytay Street.
Yap is the mother of Angelica Yap who is also known as ”Pastillas Girl” in the lunchtime program ”It’s Showtime” by ABS-CBN.
The victim was also a member of the barangay council of Barangay 137 in Caloocan City.
Radyo Inquirer quoted police as saying that the victim was immediately brought to a hospital but died around 9:20 p.m.
Police said they have a copy of a CCTV footage that could give valuable information on the killing. They added they still have to determine the motive for the murder.
”Pastillas Girl” became popular after she started looking for someone who could be her boyfriend through the noontime program ”It’s Showtime.”
But some of the episodes became controversial after a woman’s group complained that the show was allegedly making Angelica solicit a relationship.
This forced Angelica’s mother to come out in public to defend her daughter.

Repost: Mary-Kate Olsen Reportedly Marries Olivier Sarkozy in Private New York Ceremony

What little girl doesn't dream of hosting a wedding where guests have the opportunity to hasten their death?
Former child star-turned-fashion designer Mary-Kate Olsen reportedly married Olivier Sarkozy in a private ceremony in Manhattan on Friday, multiple outlets report. According to Us Weekly, it was a "small and lovely" outdoor affair where the couple said their vows in front of 50 people, including their parents.
But the real party apparently started once things moved inside. A source told Page Six that the event decor included "bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night,” which sounds like nothing if not an Olsen wedding. And, if true, that's all you really need to know, right?
Olsen, 29, and Sarkozy, 46 became engaged in February 2014 after dating for two years. Sarkozy, who is brother to former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, reportedly popped the question with a 4-carat vintage diamond ring, purchased at a Sotheby's auction for more than $80,000 -- a surprisingly economical purchase considering the couple bought a five-bedroom townhouse for a reported $13.5 million in Turtle Bay Gardens in Manhattan's midtown area last year.
This is Olsen’s first marriage, while Sarkozy was married to children’s book author and freelance fashion writer Charlotte Bernard, with whom he has two children, from 1997 to 2011.
Congrats to the happy couple!

Misfiring Collaboration

After testing the waters for all their loveteams, the management of the network now has a clear picture of the market of their loveteam. Clearly, Loveteam A has dominated the higher social strata of viewers, whereas Loveteam B has more viewers coming from the lower bracket. In short, Loveteam B is ‘pang-masa, ’while Loveteam A caters to the more ‘sosyal’ group of viewers. Moreover, while Loveteam B is lording over primetime, Loveteam A has more positive write-ups and feedback coming from the press and viewers, respectively.
Given this observation, the backers of Loveteam B are trying to figure out how to make sure they remain on top of everything, namely, ratings, write-ups, box-office, and endorsements. However, recent developments show that Loveteam A might just overtake Loveteam B at the rate other factors are moving.
The recent project of Loveteam B was given high hopes, as viewers were eager to follow the timeless story of the two young lovers in the series. However, the unraveling of the narrative started to take so many twists and turns that the original expectations were no longer met. For example, the more seasoned actors found themselves being hounded by their roles in unexpected loveteams. Thus, more viewers were following the story of the main supporting cast instead of the two young leads. The older actors were getting more exposure than Loveteam B, and some fans started to notice that something in the plot was amiss.
Worse, even if they say there is no competition, the upward and positive trend of the project of Loveteam A is affecting Loveteam B. Some followers have commented that Loveteam A’s project seems to be better that of Loveteam B. Because of the pressure, the brains behind Loveteam B had to brainstorm on the steps to take to remain at the top. To make sure Loveteam B stays number one, Influential Personality 1 (IP1) and Influential Personality 2 (IP2) had to collaborate.
Allegedly, IP1 and IP2 met with some members of the production and started giving their suggestions. Although IP1 has no experience in front of the camera, IP2 spent a significant time of her life performing, and thus the latter could exude credibility of sorts. The production listened and deviations from the original story were on their way. Unfortunately, loyalists of the original show were displeased and the fans of Loveteam B were aghast at the development.
While IP1 and IP2 might have had good intentions in protecting Loveteam B, the feedback in social media has grown uncontrollable. Fans have become impatient and in the process of reacting, Loveteam A gets to be dragged. Well, the think tank of the network will probably fix the mess, as Loveteam B is far too valuable to be destroyed by intrigue and displeased uncontrollable fans.
