Repost: Fashion Pulis Speaks to Style Bible about the Lawsuit and Cyberbullying
Source: www.stylebible.ph
Kicking off this week with so much tension as celebrity stylist Liz Uy officially files a legal complaint versus Fashion Pulis blogger Michael Sy Lim, the heat continues to unfurl with one issue arising after another.
In light of the P11-million lawsuit being charged against him, which covers multiple counts of online libel and one grave slander, Lim released an official statement on his blog, denying any malicious intent involved in his posts. But in hopes to further clarify and air his side, Style Bible reached out to Fashion Pulis. To which, he replied, “As of now, I cannot discuss the merits of the case because my lawyer and I have not yet officially received a copy of the complaint and could not address yet the allegations she made.”
Moreover, he stated his confidence in defending himself against the allegations, stating that his intention was not to purposely destroy reputation but merely to point out his personal observations relating to public concern.
He wrote, “I would like to say that bloggers, writers, journalists and even commentators should be allowed to freely point out their observations, air their comments—whether good or bad—and promote discussion of ideas in a democracy, especially for matters of public concern and about public figures. People in this job like mine, whether they like it or not, serve the purpose for check and balance to public figures who have great influence to the masses who look up to them. If we happen to point out mistakes, inconsistencies, excesses and wrongdoings, it is NOT with the purpose to destroy their reputation but to inform the public within their sphere of influence of the issues that are of public concern and to encourage them to think critically about these in order for them to make WISER judgments. This greater purpose should be more important than the perceived hurt feelings by public figures who seem to feel immune from criticisms and cannot take the heat when fairly criticized. That is why I am confident to fight these cases.”
In light of the current social media movement spearheaded by Liz's camp, Fashion Pulis also answered further questions relating to the ongoing #StopTheHate campaign.
Different personalities have been using the hashtag #StopTheHate all over social media in support of Liz's case. How do you feel about this?
By posting #StoptheHate in their IG accounts, they are actually propagating HATE because they allow HATE comments in their posts.
If they truly advocate to #StopTheHate a hundred percent, then they should perhaps delete all the hate comments or maybe block a follower who posts a hate comment. As they say, "practice what you preach."
They are calling you a cyber bully. How would you respond to that?
A bully involves the use of power and influence. Almost all the celebrities who claim that I cyber bully them have way more followers than I have in their social media accounts. They also have more fans compared to Fashion Pulis.
What's your next course of action? Are you planning to countersue?
My lawyer and I are still waiting for the copy of the complaint for us to decide on our next step.

They're Just Too in Love with Each Other
When people fall in love, two possible effects could happen. Love could inspire or love could destroy. For the Young Actress (YA) who has struggled during most of her career, love came at a time when her career was just getting the boost it needed. While everyone expected YA to reap the positive effects of being in love, people were shocked that it proved to be her distraction.
During her taping for a drama, her co-workers could not stand her crankiness and diva-like attitude. For several times, YA would arrive two to three hours late for her call time, which delays everyone else. Prior to taping, the production staff has already mapped out the scenes, actors, location needed for the day. Given that tapings are on a tight budget, the schedule has to be strictly followed. Thus, YA coming late to the set means delay, which, consequently, disrupts the setup and incurs unexpected losses.
Other than coming late, people noticed that YA has two different moods. In front of senior stars in her project, YA is pleasantly charming and polite. However, when it comes to her screen partner, her attitude is different and that goes for the non-showbiz people around her as well.
When YA was starting out, she was accompanied by Someone Close (SC) to her. SC was the support system of YA and took care of her needs or any issue while taping. Then, SC stopped accompanying YA, which did not surprise the people who knew of their big fight. Apparently, YA resented SC being around her all the time, as the presence of SC restricted her freedom. Thus, when SC was asked why she stopped showing up, the response was simple, “YA is independent now.”
With her independence, nothing could stop YA from seeing her boyfriend, Celebrity Hunk (CH). Well, similar to YA, CH has been noticed to be distracted these days given his inconsistent performance. Before and after taping, YA would take the opportunity to be with CH. Meanwhile, CH has reciprocated and despite his female fans swooning around him, he is not shy to show up in gatherings with YA. Thus, with YA falling hard for CH, people have connected that her being late to her taping sometimes is the result of her coming from the pad of CH. Is her love for CH bound to make her sacrifice her career? After spending most of her life in the business, will love emerge victorious over her lackluster career?
‘She wasn’t exactly sure when it happened. Or even when it started. All she knew for sure was that right here and now, she was falling hard and she could only pray that he was feeling the same way.’ ― Nicholas Sparks

The Failed Excuse for the Missing Jewelry
Contests are often made exciting not just by the prestige of a title, but by the range of prizes as well. Depending on the reputation of the contest and the generosity of sponsors, winners can bring home a car, a house and lot, a business, jewelry, talent contracts, and cash. Of course, the quality of prizes has to match the prestige of the contest.
As the country has an extensive list of various contests, scouts, talent managers, and potential contestants usually prepare months ahead in anticipation of screenings or calls from the organizers. Some persons are serial contestants, who keep trying until they reach the age limit or until they win a slot in the contest. Thus, every year, these persons improve their level of entry. Others shape their body, practice their responses, and undergo workshops to develop confidence and rapport with audiences. Some are successful and manage to enter the final round, while others are rejected. Thus, audiences are no longer surprised when familiar names are heard as contestants year after year.
In one famous contest, a sponsor gave jewelry for the possible winners. The expected outcome was for the winners to wear the jewelry as a way to promote the company. Finally, the winners were announced and naturally, the sponsor expected the jewelry to be given to the triumphant. Later, the sponsor noticed that not even one of the winners was wearing at least an item from the sets that were allocated. When asked for an explanation, the contest representative stated that the jewelry sets are being kept to make sure the winners complete the stipulation in their contracts. The contest management was just making sure that no one disappears before the contract is over. In some cases, once the prize has been given to a winner who decides to quit before the end of the contract, retrieval of the cash or non-cash prize can be a headache.
The explanation was convincing and the sponsor thought the idea was brilliant. Then, one day, during another event, the sponsor was shocked. Behold, one of the movers of the said contest was wearing the jewelry specially given to the winners of the contest. The sponsor could not decide whether to feel flattered, as someone famous was going around wearing the jewelry, or disappointed at the non-fulfillment of the agreement, that is, for the winners to wear the jewelry and not for anyone involved in the contest to take advantage of the prize. The contest is very prestigious and the wearer was someone who has such an almost squeaky-clean reputation in the contest arena.
