She Must Have Her Reasons

A famous philosopher once said that principles would never bring the milk to the table. At certain times, this adage is often correct, as many people succumb to giving in than sticking to their beliefs and affiliation. As election time comes in the country, this saying is once again tested. With so many candidates to choose from, political camps have tapped showbiz personalities to endorse their bets.
When a showbiz personality runs for a position, there is no guarantee that his/her fellow celebrities will automatically endorse the campaign. While other will campaign voluntarily, other celebrities will consider their family, connections, management, and of course, the right price. With the advantage of social media, endorsing can come in various ways. For example, if a celebrity has over a million followers in various accounts, one post for a politician will reach so many potential voters. Thus, celebrities that have such influence are in demand. On the other side, to reach the masses, some politicians hire celebrities with whom the less fortunate could relate. One late comedian acknowledged that she actually earned more during elections by hosting provincial sorties as compared with her talent fee for a season-long teleserye.
Given the lucrative financial gain, celebrities could give in as long as the price is right. For example, the decision of a Veteran Actress (VA) to endorse a candidate (AC) shocked the party of a rival candidate (RC) who had expected her support. Throughout the career of VA, she has been known to be quite close to the family of RC. In fact, VA is even considered as part of the extended family.
However, the decision of VA to endorse AC should not be made a big deal by the camp of RC. While some might think that VA is doing it for the money, as she is hardly visible these days, there might be other reasons that are quite personal. At some point in her life, VA was involved with the family of AC, and thus it should be surprising that she feels strongly for AC and would support the candidacy.
When it comes to elections, the line separating showbiz from politics can become blurry. Only when the campaign period starts next year will the public see the strength of having celebrities as endorses. Thus, VA is not alone, as there might be other celebrities who will have surprising endorsements for electoral candidates.

Careless and Absent-minded Thoughts

Most actresses and actors will give anything to work with Award Winning Actress (AW), who is considered an icon for all generations. AW started quite young in the industry and worked hard to attain her current position in the business. While she became famous decades ago, she could still amass followers and admirers for her acting and singing. Unlike other celebrities of today’s generation, AW has remained humble and has adopted an attitude of accepting things as they happen. At her age and despite her achievements, AW is moving on with her life one step at a time.
Working with AW is considered a great opportunity because newbies could learn from her. Besides, AW always gets the best directors for her movies and TV projects. To be included in a project with AW could benefit any open-minded talent, as he/she will be working with the best performers and directors. Moreover, the story will not be allowed to suffer, as any producer knows the high expectations for projects with AW. However, it seems that not everyone is keen to work with AW.
When the network broached the idea of a project with AW to Pretty Talent (PT), the production was shocked at the candid and sort of tactless reply they received. PT rejected the project and allegedly said a few statements that could very well spark violent reactions from rabid fans of AW. PT has been caught several times with her foot in her mouth, so to speak, and thus, her reaction is not out of her character.
Her reasons for rejecting the project, though sounding logical, are quite disappointing. Allegedly, PT considered the way she and AW would look on screen. Together, they would not look credible enough to play mother and daughter. The audience will not believe that the character of AW could give birth to a light-skin daughter, which was the role offered to her. Thus, disbelief might affect their credibility as actresses and the project as well.
If PT has other reasons why she refused the project, no one really knows except for her and perhaps, her manager. Nonetheless, all is well, as AW will continue with her much awaited comeback on television, and this time, another talent of the network will be with her. Meanwhile, PT has a forthcoming project with a seasoned actor, who will finally appear in the network since he came back from semi-retirement.
