His Blatant Reaction to Her Choice

One may have looks, fame, and money, but life would be incomplete without love. When Vibrant Hunk (VH) realized that he has finally made a name in the business, he could not believe that he has almost everything he desired. With looks came screaming fans, with fame came a high rate of success in his projects, and with money, his indulgence in his excesses. However, these came with a price, and that is, he could not fall in love with Misdirected Talent (MT).

Although VH has a love team, his name is continuously being linked to every girl he is seen with. VH with other females is not surprising because he exudes charm that can make females swoon. Not only is he good-looking, he is also talented and versatile. Of course, VH and the said female would deny that something special is happening between them. Fans of his loveteam are very possessive and they only want VH with a Certain Actress (CA).

However, love can attempt to find its way to the unsuspecting heart. VH finally realized he was attracted to MT, even though CA was so near. Thus, VH started seeing MT, and MT started to reciprocate, as she was quite smitten with him. VH then opted to shift to clean up his act. He lessened his fun time and even quit some vices just to focus on MT. Ironically, MT became a positive influence on him.

When their management teams found out that something was developing, they immediately warned VH and MT. First, VH has a love team with CA to protect. If VH were found to be in a relationship, then the effects could hurt their career as well as the potential earning of the management, of course. Second, given that the image of MT is not exactly at its best, this negative impression might affect the image of VH.

Meanwhile, the management of MT had a harsher way of stopping the beating of hearts. The management threatened not to give any project to MT if she continues her developing closeness with VH. Alas, love lost and fear won. MT followed her management, and left VH in the cold. MT was afraid that her career will not take off, and that was something that her family would not easily accept.

With his ego hurting, VH thought of getting back at MT without getting her involved. VH started hooking up with people close to MT. He would get close to her friends and given the chance, use his charisma to get intimate. It was like saying that no female could possibly resist him. His alleged exploits are meant to send a message to MT, as he knows that she would be affected by his actions. Given the circumstances, VH and MT will just have to place their experience in their memory, and think of each other as the one who got away.

Joker Arroyo Passes Away at 88

MANILA, Philippines - Former senator Joker Arroyo succumbed late Monday to heart attack at a still undisclosed hospital abroad, according to highly reliable sources of The STAR. He was 88.

Arroyo represented the first district of Makati City for nine years in the 9th, 10th and 11th Congresses, from 1992 to 2001. He served as senator from 2001 to 2013.

He was known to be the most frugal member of Congress, earning him the moniker “Scrooge of Congress.” He had only three staff members: a driver, a secretary and a legislative assistant.

As a congressman and a senator, he had no bodyguards. He did not enjoy the trappings and perks of power.

“You have to know when to stop,” he told The STAR in an interview prior to the end of his term in 2013. He said he was not running for public position after his Senate stint.

Unknown to many, he was the only other senator who did not use his P200-million annual Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel allocation, saving taxpayers P2.4 billion over his 12-year stint in the Senate.

Arrogance Explained

Senior actors and insiders in showbiz are often fond of the saying “Drowning in a glass of water,” when referring to the change in attitude of younger talents who achieved fame in a short time. When a celebrity is said to be in such a situation, he/she is throwing weight when it comes to projects and actors to work with.

Sadly, most of the starting talents who succumbed to the saying have lost their momentum and their fame as quickly as they obtained it. For example, when a young actor suddenly refuses to do a project for whatever reason, it indicates that he/she is not following the instructions of management, particularly, the terms of a contract. Disobeying the management is a risky undertaking, as such, action can disrupt the career of once famous talents. Such disobeying talents can either kiss their careers goodbye for the moment and wait until their contract has ended so they can move on.

In the past months, the industry has shown the rise of several young men into stardom. Fans suddenly increase and an actor becomes famous even though he has been in the business for some time. Thus, when Cute Actor (CA) finally made it to the big league, the management was surprised at his attitude. CA is throwing his weight and making others feel that he is an important talent of the network. This negative and boastful attitude of CA has thrown off some colleagues, as they could not believe the fact that CA has turned into such a person. The image he has oncam is that of a humble and fun-loving person, but the opposite behind the scenes is evident.

As his attitude can get on the nerves of his co-workers, he was warned by a top executive not to be so haughty, as he only had very few projects that are considered hits despite being with the station for several years. Thus, he has not really proved anything. It was only in the last couple of years that CA became a household name.

Given that CA is arrogant, some have speculated that he might be compensating for a flaw. Allegedly, the grapevine says that CA is indeed lacking in that department, and he is not that gifted despite the stance that he projects in his photos. Allegedly, someone who has been intimate with CA spilled the beans that indeed CA is inadequate when it comes to size. Thus, he uses his projection of arrogance to make up for his physical shortcoming.
