Coping with the Challenges of Love

When love hits a person, he or she will do everything to make sure it lasts. Some showbiz couples who have found love sometimes rival that of the story of Romeo and Juliet. Worse, some are involved in a rigodon of sorts, whereby the same set people seem to exchange partners.
Adept Performer (AP) had so much promise when he was starting out his career, but his entry into showbiz was marked with intrigue. While he was talented, people believe that he was not the best in the competition he joined. AP is an all-around performer, as he can sing, dance, and act. However, he lacked the most important element that distinguishes celebrities. AP does not have mass appeal, which is the reason for his seemingly long time to break into a big role on primetime television.
When AP fell in love with Lovely Actress (LA), he did not realize that he would experience embarrassment for the sake of love. Soon after AP and LA admitted they were an item, stories of how Feisty Kin (FK) did not like AP for LA started to make the buzz. However, AP did not say anything, until one incident proved that FK was going to be vocal for her dislike for him. Alas, AP and LA ended their relationship and both attempted to move on.
Meanwhile, FK remained protective of LA and screened potential suitors. Thus, when Young Scion (YS) indicated that he liked LA, FK smelled something fishy. While LA and YS are single, FK sensed that there might be a deeper reason why YS chose LA. FK then told LA to turn down any intention of YS that is beyond friendship.
Although they are supposed to have gone separate ways, when AP heard of the story, he felt jealous and wanted to do something about his feeling. Since he and the Ex-Girlfriend (EG) of YS belong to the same network, getting close to her was easy. During an interview, EG was asked about AP, and she only had words of fondness for him and that giddy feeling.
Similarly, although EG and AP are single, someone got in the way, and stopped any further blooming of their relationship. Semi-retired Senior Singer Performer (SS) told EG to stop bothering AP, as her image counters that of the boy-next-door image of AP. Prior to giving EG his piece of mind, SS told AP not to court or do something that will formally link him to EG. SS said that the image of EG is not suited for his reputation. Obedient as he is, AP followed SS.
Time can indeed be funny, as AP and LA are seen together and both are even involved in the same passion. Stories are going around that they might be back together. Well, if love is indeed true, nothing can stop it.

Must Really Learn to Put Aside His Ego

Dining with friends is always a pleasant experience, bonding develops, and friendships deepen. However, eating in a restaurant in the country is sometimes not easy for celebrities as fans are everywhere and would request to have photos with them. Of course, if a celebrity refuses a request from a fan, chances are that story will go viral on social media. Hence, celebrities prefer to go abroad, as their anonymity allows them to go around freely and unnoticed.
When a group of talents went overseas, they took the opportunity to explore the location and enjoy themselves without having to worry about fans mobbing them along the streets. The talents managed to move around despite the toxic schedule of rehearsals. As the talents were going to perform to a huge crowd, the production wanted the very best entertainment, and thus, they maximized the rehearsal days.
During a break from their rigorous rehearsals, Cocky Actor (CA) invited Fellow Talents to a nearby restaurant for lunch. His friends agreed and thought it would be a good chance to bond as well. When their bill arrived, CA said he left his wallet in the hotel room. The friends said it was fine and they all chipped in to pay for the bill. The same day, the same friends dined out again. After eating, CA excused himself, as he went to the restroom. The bill came and the friends had no choice, but to pay the cost without having to wait for CA. When CA arrived, they teased him that he has done it twice in one day, and that the next day’s meal would be on him.
On the following day, the friends waited for CA. Then, they started to look for him, but they were told that CA already left with a Female Friend (FF). The friends were disappointed, as CA did not adhere to their agreement. Instead of looking for CA further, they decided to go without him.
It seemed that CA had already something with FF and did not bother to inform his friends, who waited for him. CA took FF to a restaurant in the area that served familiar dishes. CA then went to talk to the owner and requested if he could have a table in a secluded part of the restaurant. He said he wanted a bit of privacy and for the staff to bar any fan who would want to have a picture taken with them. In short, despite being in a overseas, CA wanted VIP treatment.
The owner wondered at who CA was and why he had so many demands. After a few seconds, the owner said that they were fully booked and that they could not accommodate him. Further, the owner said that there are just too many regular customers who dine at his restaurant, and their needs come ahead of any unnecessary requests. Although CA might be a celebrity in our country, he’s just an ordinary person abroad. However, his character seems to be consistent regardless of his location.

Sheryl Cruz’s Tell-All on Her Cousin Grace Poe Aborted

Cruz showed up late for her supposed tell-all interview about her cousin at the Manila Hotel press conference of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) biopic on its founder, Felix Manalo, with organizers of the event denying knowledge of the interview.
Cruz held a separate, brief interview at the Manila Hotel’s café.
Leigh Legaspi, Viva Films’ vice president for theatrical sales and marketing, told reporters that Cruz had been disinvited to the affair and asked that the event be spared from any controversy.
“She was advised not to attend the event anymore and not to make any interview in the vicinity of the hotel about any other topic including politics,” Legaspi said, adding that Cruz had been initially invited to the grand launch of the movie because she played “a cameo role” as one of the more than 100 performers in the movie.
It was not clear if Cruz was escorted by security out of the press con venue on the request of the movie producers, only that she was clearly unwelcome at the event.

Cruz said she was speaking up to clear the name of her mother, former actress Rosemarie Sonora, who was rumored to be the real mother of Poe, with ousted authoritarian President Ferdinand Marcos as her real father.
“(People) can (have) all these different versions of what they think happened between my mom and Marcos but I know that it is not true. (So) I am sorry, I am not willing to (undergo) a DNA test. Please spare my family from this; they are so affected by it,” Cruz said.
“Ayoko nang madamay ang nanay ko (I don’t want to drag my mother into this). She wants to keep the peace in the family. I don’t want it to appear that my mom had an affair with another man not my dad,” Cruz added.
Poe, a foundling, was adopted by movie couple Fernando Poe Jr. and Susan Roces (aka Jesusa Sonora), Rosemarie Sonora’s elder sister. Poe was reportedly found in an Iloilo church, with her umbilical cord still intact.
The presidential candidate, who renounced and later reacquired her Filipino citizenship after taking on American citizenship, is the subject of a case filed at the Senate Electoral Tribunal, questioning her citizenship and her qualification to hold public office.
A bit abrupt
Only natural-born Filipino citizens can run for election, and the case sought to prove that Poe, whose parents—and their citizenship—are unknown, might not be one.
Cruz, the daughter of 1960s stars Sonora and Ricky Belmonte had campaigned for Poe when she ran for senator in the 2013 elections, but said she was opposed to her cousin running for higher office in 2016.
“It’s a bit abrupt for her to run in 2016, and popularity cannot be translated into capability,” Cruz said in Tuesday’s interview. “She’ll make a fine president come 2022.”
Career threatened
Cruz said her being outspoken on Poe’s candidacy could threaten her movie career. Already, her manager had been forced to resign, she said.
“I am now without a manager and I can’t understand why I’m suddenly without a representative in my career,” said the 1980s star.
Cruz said she did not want to “belittle” her cousin’s capabilities, but neither did she want “to leave the country’s future to chance.”
“The lives of its citizens are not a game of chance,” she added.
