A trio of network bosses were scheduled to go abroad for the network’s event. Arrangements were made prior where network Boss A BA assumed that all three of them would be traveling together.
However, a day before the flight, BA had not heard from Boss B BB whether she was going or not, something that was quite unusual. So BA checked and called BB to confirm, but BB couldn’t be reached.
After several tries, BB still couldn’t be reached. Turned out, BB had left earlier and was in another city. How did BA know? The Local Head LH of the network's affiliate abroad happened to be in the vicinity where BB was at the time. Being LH's boss, LH reported to BA that he spotted BB dining at a restaurant with Lucky Artist LA, one of their network talents.
LH asked BB what brought BB there when BB should be in another city for the network event, BB was at a loss for words for a while but quickly recovered after. BB said it was because of a family emergency where BB's presence was needed.
So lucky indeed is LA for having BB by his side at the drop of a hat. Uh oh, there was cause for a celebration then, right? Truly, BB is a very powerful executive who can call the shots anytime. Pleasure first before business, that is.
