Her Candid Rants on the Sweet Actresses
All media performers are aware that their bodies are their primary assets in their field. In particular, television personalities are conscious of the fact that the medium adds around ten pounds to the actual weight of the performer. Networks have even implemented the “fat memo,” which gives overweight talents the ultimatum to lose weight or else they will not have projects. Hence, most talents have resorted to various diets, exercise regimens, surgery, and body sculpting to keep their shape and stance in their networks.
Alas, good food is always hard to resist, especially when it comes to roasted pork from down south. In a taping for a teleserye, dramatic talent (DT) brought roasted pork to the set. DT shared the food with the crew as well as her fellow cast members. DT even personally gave some to one of her co-actors, vocal actress (VA), who thanked her. When DT left, VA ranted. First, VA commented on how DT is trying to win everyone by her sharing of food. Then, she went on by zeroing in on the size of DT, who has gained visible weight on screen. VA tactlessly said that DT simply wants her to be as fat as she.
Someone then asked VA if she were close with DT. VA unleashed her lines and questioned how she can be close to DT. VA cited that she and DT started together. While DT was a finalist in the network's homegrown search for talents, DT has yet to achieve as much fame as what VA has achieved. Further, DT is already a has-been without having even reached her peak. VA said that DT’s added weight does not add any value to her at all, and the only thing DT can brag about is her light skin color. When they thought VA was done, VA turned unstoppable. She continued by mentioning how one can think she’s pretty only because she has light skin color. VA then used another actress (AA) as her example. VA said that no matter how hard the network tries to make AA famous, all her projects flopped. In addition, VA said that AA was merely relying on gimmick and her skin color, but did not at all bother to have her muscled arms smaller.
With a simple question, came VA’s long answer. Some wondered where all these lines were coming from, considering that the last project of VA also flopped, and her manager only requested for her to be in a good project, which is her current teleserye. Was VA too honest or is she back to her tactless ways?
Tact is one of the first mental virtues, the absence of it is fatal to the best talent. -William Gilmore Simms

Unkind Act of the Loveteam
The choice of fame to pursue a career will always have its rewards in terms of financial gain, and ideally, a higher self-worth. However, this choice leads to the drawback of the loss of privacy. Fans, the press, and the curious often hound entertainers, politicians, athletes, and even everyday heroes for a glimpse, a handshake, a kiss, or a photo. While some celebrities have accepted that mingling with fans is part of the job, others have forgotten that fame has its responsibilities, and have forgotten that they have traded their privacy for public ownership.
A reel love team was seen in a famous resort, which is easily accessible to the public who can afford their rates and membership. The two were taking a breather and were, perhaps, celebrating the surprising success of their partnership. Some visitors asked if they could have a photo with the love team. The actor and the actress declined and said they were on “vacation.” Even if the visitors requested for just one photo with the pair, the reel couple still refused. One of these visitors was a child. The child must have really loved the duo, but this request was turned down as well. The child was already crying in trying to convince the pair, but they still said “No!” The poor child had no choice but to step away. The staff even got annoyed at the arrogance of the two.
Though apparently well loved by their fans, the actor and the actress have not spared the public from showing off their negative side. In several instances, the actor could not contain himself, and had the gall to disrespect even colleagues from his own network even if he was on national television. Meanwhile, the actress has been touted to have a sweet image, but still some skeletons in her closet, especially about her treatment of her family, has raised skepticism if she is really as kind as her public image.
Has success gone into the heads of this reel couple this early? Have they forgotten that the fans have made it possible for them to acquire fame and wealth? The strangers who had asked for photos could have been these fans. Thus, instead of gaining more admirers, the reel couple succeeded in turning off these people. Perhaps, the reel couple should think of which they prefer: to have no one approach them anymore or to have fans occasionally asking for a photo or two?
Fame is a vapor, popularity an accident, and riches take wings. Only one thing endures and that is character.- Horace Greeley
