No Acclaim for a Swellhead

SP's naivette often got the better of her when answering some media questions, as she sometimes was clueless especially during her unguarded moments. Critics accused her of not having her own style as a performer, even her alleged fashion style also became the object of their disgust. For a neophyte in the industry, it was a challenge for SP to answer to every accusation hurled at her.
Diehard fans of BP resented SP's alleged copying of their idol's acting style, as shown in her first movie. She was also accused of copying the style and look of notably more popular stars – criticizing her as wanting to clone just anybody.
Her defenders/fans 'though were quick to the rescue saying that SP's bashers were just bitter about her success. But clearly, SP was weighed down by the many comparisons and accusations. Among others some said that her new status had suddenly changed her.
Recently, some fans who have been regularly watching the network's live weekly variety show as studio audience claimed how success had indeed gone to SP's head.
At the studio, they saw and approached their idols BP and SP who were beside each other. The bigger star BP was very friendly and accommodating and gamely posed for pictures with them. And the other idol SP? Acting like a diva, she looked at them emotionless and turned her back as fast as she walked out away from them. Yes, it was quick.

Drunk with Power

Young Public Servant PS is an idealistic head of a provincial town. People were initially cynical of her capability to head their small and struggling town owing to PS' privileged and intimidating background. But along the way, she managed to show her skills and capability by walking her talk, and PS somehow successfully earned her constituents' trust.
PS has a number of friends from showbiz, fashion and business. She is quite generous and would invite them on special occasions, like holiday vacations - with everything on the house. This was goodwill or PR to showcase the beauty of her town to these people who are mostly industry influencers. The aggressive PS has once offered her place as location for major television shows.
Not once did PS also invite them to have a look-see at the various developments in her town to attract them to explore investments. One of those that got interested was Hunk Actor HA who brought along his Businessman Father BF there. PS was making presentations of some properties in the area and BF got interested. However, BF was kind of discouraged by the excessively-priced lots being offered by PS. He decided to explore somewhere within the area.
Luckily, BF and HA found a good deal which was only a small fraction of the price of that of PS'. They talked to the owner and showed their find to PS to ask for her opinion about it and a possible sale. To be fair to PS, she okayed it and gave father and son the green light.
The sale progressed and as the property was already being fenced, the Father of PS FP allegedly came into the picture. He said that he owned the property and he was not selling. HA and BF were aghast. They immediately contacted PS to inform her about FP and his belated claim to the property. But what PS said shocked them more, "I cannot do anything, he is my father and I cannot go against him."
That was enough to make HA and BF cancel the transaction. It was obvious that FP was sending the message that people must only buy from PS and no one else. Indeed, politics suck everywhere in the Philippines. Seems like every Tom, Dick and Harry want to have a piece of every pie.
