Causing Another Repulsive Commotion

However, as years passed and TB's career going on a downhill, the public sensed that the once perceived perfect marriage was cracking up. TB began displaying a different and unbecoming personality in public. Despite this, DG stood by her and did not bother to respond to rumors involving TB, her alleged other men, her questionable habits, and their marriage.
As events slowly unfolded, the public finally realized the marriage had failed. DG left their conjugal home, while TB kept getting involved in controversies such that she always made it to showbiz headlines - further diminishing her credibility. By contrast, DG seems to have the public behind him by not talking as much despite all the allegations thrown at him by TB’s camp. Thus, anything that TB says is taken with a grain of salt.
When DG and TB created a commotion in their village that caused a major traffic jam, onlookers were surprised to see DG in his SUV with his shirt all tattered up. Earlier, TB did not want DG to leave so she jumped on the hood of his vehicle. When DG started on the engine, TB fell on the pavement. DG apologized, picked her up, and took her inside the house. Soon after, as DG walked back to his vehicle, TB followed him holding an object. Then, she started hitting another car of DG that was parked in their home. As their anger heated up, so were the angry words that were exchanged. DG was overheard saying that no man in his right mind will ever want to be involved with TB!
While most married couples would want to fix their marriage privately, DG and TB are doing the opposite, treating the public as their playground for their misbehavior that could embarrass their children as well. While their marriage seems hopeless at this point, can they still salvage whatever little respect they have for each other?

Gretchen Barretto: I'm Not Part of Barretto's Anymore

Actress Gretchen Barretto was apparently irritated after she was asked to comment on the legal battles of her younger sister, Claudine.
Claudine recently filed for a temporary protection order against her estranged husband Raymart Santiago, with her legal counsel claiming that she was “abused.”
Speaking to reporters after the awarding ceremonies of the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival on Sunday, Barretto reiterated that she does not intend to get involved in Claudine’s problems.
She also reminded the reporters that her mother Inday already disowned her in favor of Claudine.
“Itinakwil na po ako. So in other words, wala na kayong karapatan tanungin ako tungkol sa Barretto family dahil I’m not part of that family anymore. Right now, my family is Tony (her husband) and Dominique (her daughter), Marjorie and Jayjay (her siblings) and the rest of my siblings. Mahirap naman ipilit ang sarili ko sa mga ayaw sa akin,” she said.
Barretto also appealed that she and Marjorie be spared from issues that don’t concern them.
“Tahimik na rin po ang buhay ko. Kung nano-notice niyo naman po, puro career na lang at pamilya ko or anak ko ang pinagtutuunan ko ng pansin. Huwag na natin isali ako at si Marjorie sa mga gulong hindi naman na kami dapat kasali pa,” she said.
Barretto said she would rather focus on taking care of her "real" family .
“I think I learned the big lesson na lumayo na lang para walang gulo. Di ba kapag walang sinasabi, wala ng problema? Mahirap ang mga gulo-gulo, masaya na ang buhay natin,” she said.
When asked what she is praying for amid all the controversies, Barretto said: “Ang pinagdaanan ko hindi madali. 'Yung pang-iinsulto sa pagkatao ko, sa kredibilidad ko, napakasakit. Alam niyo iyon, hindi ko na kailangan sabihin iyon.”
“Bakit ba kailangan paulit-ulit tinatanong ang hindi dapat itanong? What for, para masaya kayo at bahala na ako? That’s not right. Pati prayers ko pakikialaman niyo? Bakit? Artista ako, that’s all I can give you,” she added.

Not A Masterful Performance

In one event, SS was invited to perform for the audience. First, SS was charging quite a hefty sum for only five songs. Second, other than his hefty fee, SS had specific requirements for his performance. He requested for a teleprompter and an earpiece to hear himself on stage. In short, the client adhered to his fee and his technical rider (requirements), which added extra production expenses that the client had to shoulder. During the contract signing, the client specified the five songs for SS to sing. The representative of SS agreed, and the contract was signed and sealed.
On the day of the event, SS did not perform any of the five songs the client requested. Worse, the audience noticed that SS did not sing live, and he just lip-synched his numbers. It is worth nothing that sometime ago, SS had an interview with a well-respected international female singer (IF), who expressed her strong opinion against singers who lip-synch and do not memorize lyrics. SS even expressed his agreement with IF on the matter.
Given his interview with IF, SS is such a disappointment for performing in this manner. Professional singers should adhere to their contracts and perform live each day that they have to go on stage. The audience expects and deserves more. They are no longer fooled by a singer who merely moves his lips to his own recording. What was SS thinking?

Letter from a Reader: Chronic Killjoy Attitude

Let me share with you and your readers what I found out about the character of a highly paid young actress (HP). Like any social networking savvy person, I follow many celebrities and that young actress is one of them. Lately, a close friend told me that whenever I comment something negative in the account of HP, it gets immediately deleted. I thought that with so many followers posting comments and liking her photos, my comments would probably escape her eye.
In a spur of the moment, I wrote “Retokada” in one of HP’s uploaded photos. Immediately, her loyal fans started to fight with me. Then, their numbers increased, and I decided to delete all my other comments just so these fans would give me peace.
Well, I was sorry that I wrote those comments out of “trip lang.” Then, recently, I noticed that my account was already blocked. I was amused by this reaction on the part of HP or whoever maintains her account. I did not realize that HP and her camp could be so affected by “retokada.” So what, if HP were retokada? It’s noticeable, and yet she still denies it.
Anyway, I assume HP immediately blocks all her “haters” or even those who express opinions she finds disagreeable. It is funny that HP, despite being in showbiz for so many years (and has no plans of being in hiatus soon, I guess), is still not used to getting “criticisms” or having the “truth” told in public. Instead of getting used to the fact that celebrities are always exposed to negative criticisms, HP has grown more sensitive.
