“I want to give the breakup the same amount of respect that I had for the relationship,” wrote Andrea.
Kapuso actress Andrea Torres issued a short statement today, November 20, on the breakdown of her romance with actor-model Derek Ramsay.
In her statement sent to GMANetwork.com, Andrea confessed that she and Derek have indeed parted ways although she'd rather not talk about it in detail.
Here is Andrea's statement in full:
“Yes, Derek and I are no longer together. I'd rather keep the details private as I want to give the breakup the same amount of respect that I had for the relationship.
“I think you all know how much it meant to me. I hope you understand. I will always wish him and his family well.”
Andrea's admission came a day after Derek admitted on social media that he and the actress have broken up.
Derek was replying to a comment made by a follower asking about Andrea on his Instagram account.
“Please don't point the finger at anyone. There is nothing wrong with Andrea. She is a great woman,” Derek wrote in part.
The actor also stressed that there's no third party involved and that “the breakup has happened so fast.”
Rumors about the status of Derek and Andrea's relationship became hot topic after both stars unfollowed and deleted each other's photos on Instagram on Tuesday, November 17.
The couple remained tightlipped for a few days until Derek's comment on Instagram yesterday, putting speculations to rest.
Derek and Andrea met on the set of GMA-7's primetime drama series, The Better Woman.
It was in September of last year when Derek and Andrea admitted publicly that they are in a relationship.

UNIQLO Donates to Typhoon-Affected Families in Cooperation with SM Foundation

Japanese global apparel retailer UNIQLO offers its deepest condolences to the families affected by Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses in the Philippines. To support relief and recovery efforts, UNIQLO, via its parent company Fast Retailing, will donate 1 million USD (approx. 48 million in PHP) in aid.
The donation will be made through the SM Foundation, an entity that manages the CSR activities of the SM Group - the management partner of UNIQLO in the Philippines. The donation will be used to provide emergency food supplies and rebuild flooded housing, as well as build preventative infrastructure in areas susceptible to flooding.
Furthermore, UNIQLO in the Philippines will donate 300,000 AIRism masks to affected areas through the SM Foundation. The masks will be donated to evacuees in the affected areas of the Bicol Region, Bulacan, Cagayan, Isabela, Pampanga, and Rizal provinces, as well as Marikina City.
UNIQLO opened its first store in the Philippines in Manila, in June 2012, and currently operates 60 stores throughout the country. The typhoons have not caused any direct damage to UNIQLO stores.
UNIQLO hopes for the speedy recovery of these regions and that the families affected by these disasters can return to their normal lives as soon as possible.

A Quiet Breakup

Industry Heartthrob (IH) is among the most admired celebrities these days. IH started with nothing, did odd jobs, and worked his way up to his present status. IH had no connections by blood or other ways in the industry. He strived and remained true to what he could do. He accepted roles and did his best. Initially, he was thumbed down and his acting skills were dismissed. Such criticisms did not dishearten him and he continued to work and hone his skills. His hard work paid off.
Along his career path, IH managed to become involved with several actresses. For whatever reasons, his showbiz relationships did not work out. Although having partners in the same field is assumed to equate to understanding of one’s work, that belief was not true for IH and his former partners.
After being silent for a time, IH was seen with a Non-showbiz Woman (NW). Fans saw that IH was in love as he was devoting time for NW and both of them were pursuing the same interests. IH seemed happy with NW, and everyone hoped for the best.
However, a rumor going on pertains to IH and NW. Allegedly, the two already parted ways but have remained friends. The decision was mutual. IH has not said anything to confirm if he is once again back on the list of eligible bachelors of local showbiz. This piece of story could have started IH’s left and right matching with assumed single actresses.
