Friends of Network Celebrity (NC) could not understand where the strange behavior of their friend comes from. Among the talents in this network, NC has remained loyal, although she allegedly tried, but failed, to move to another station a few years ago. When NC finally decided to stay, she was welcomed and given projects, which showed that loyalty indeed pays.
NC, however, seems to have developed peculiar habits that have made people close to her wonder if she’s keeping a secret from them. NC has been observed to be overly frugal despite having a network contract and engagement in various businesses. For example, NC is among the few who does not have a personal assistant and has opted to live alone in her pad. She has to fix her own clothes for her shoots and be on top of her schedule, as she’s doing everything on her own. When asked why she does not have an assistant, NC would cite the additional expense for hiring one.
Moreover, using her being alone and no one to prepare her food, she would always have her container ready. Seeing her pack leftovers from her shooting and bringing them home became a common sight. Then, whenever she and her friends would go out and eat in restaurants. Expect her to excuse herself when the bill comes. Thus, after her bathroom break, she would ask about her share, but the bill has already been paid.
Typical of most celebrities, NC is shrewd at using her presence in social media. Allegedly, she would send private messages to online sellers of makeup, clothes, and other products she would need for her work. In fairness, her partners have good words for her. NC knows how to honor her ex-deals.
This frugal behavior of NC seems inconsistent with her circumstances. First, NC has a source of income. Second, NC can afford to buy a home in an expensive area, where she can take a break between work. Third, they do not know if NC has other expenses she’s paying off. Thus, her thriftiness remains a mystery.
Incidentally, NC is rumored to have a rich benefactor and that the home was a gift, but NC has denied such allegations and insisted that she and her family pooled their resources to acquire such property.
