Repost: Miss Universe Organization Releases Official Statement Confirming Partnership with the Araneta Group

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) finally put an end to speculations that the Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) franchise has been awarded to the group of Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis Chavit Singson.

In an official statement released to the Manila Bulletin, the MUO said that it will continue working with the Araneta Group on Binibining Pilipinas.

The MUO praised the leadership of Jorge Araneta, CEO, chairman and president of the Araneta Group; and his wife Stella Marquez Araneta, chair, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI), for the success of their national pageant for many years now.

The MUO also admitted that the group of Singson is supporting the efforts of MUO and the BPCI “in seeking to modernize and grow the brand into more than a one day special and LCS (Luis Chavit Singson) has agreed to support us in our efforts to do so.”

“In our continuing efforts to build and evolve the Miss Universe brand in the Philippines, the Miss Universe Organization has explored many options and opportunities to enhance Binibining and grow it into a dynamic, multi-faceted platform. While exploring these opportunities, we sought the input of all of our partners and will continue to do so.”

Previous reports alleged that the MUO has offered the local franchise to Singson.

The MUO said that before the finals of 2019 Bb. Pilipinas beauty contest in June, Governor Chavit Singson will welcome all of the Binibining contestants in historic Vigan, just as he did with the Miss Universe contestants in 2017.

“We look forward to the collaboration and innovation to bring an exciting future to Miss Universe Philippines and our beloved fans in the country,” the statement added.

The official statement was obtained by the Manila Bulletin after this writer e-mailed the MUO to comment on the issue surrounding the ownership of MUP franchise.

Excitement is in the air as rumors of a Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards movie are in the works. The pairing combines two major stars of Kapamilya and Kapuso, a combination seemingly impossible years ago, as the two have their respective partners, namely, Daniel Padilla and Maine Mendoza.

In a risky move of separating the two from their partners, the project is expected to create anticipation from fans as well as comments from bashers, who refuse to acknowledge new partnerships for their idols. Such rumor comes at a time when talks about trouble in the KathNiel camp refuse to die down. Similarly, hopes for a real-life relationship between Alden and Maine have been dashed with the closeness of the latter with Kapamilya’s Arjo Atayde.

The rumored project will be under Star Cinema and to be directed by box-office director, Cathy Garcia Molina. Molina has said that she will soon be retiring and has set her last five directorial assignments. If the Kathryn and Alden movie is indeed in the offing, then that would be part of Molina’s last few movies before retirement.

Whenever Media Sensation (MS) has a new relationship, followers become excited knowing that their idol is once again experiencing love and moving toward happiness. MS is not selfish in showing off expressions of love. Photos of gifts, love notes, promises, and silhouettes of the love interest lord over social media accounts of MS. Sometimes, MS even posts photos with the love interests and followers are happy for the couple. Then, in a few months, MS turns from bloom to gloom. MS is single again.

What went wrong? This question is always in the mind of followers. Why can’t MS be in a happy, lasting relationship and who do all the lovers seem to move away even if MS has shown devotion.

While blame can be easily pinpointed at the lost lovers, who are mostly non-celebrities, others believe MS might be the one who has a problem. Despite fame and fortune, MS might not have changed from the personality that has been associated early in life.

During the time MS was still a struggling newbie, MS would give everything, time and gifts, to the chosen one. The love of MS is passionate and often, nothing is left for him. He can be clingy. Subsequently, MS expects the same from the lovers who have reached his heart. Thus, people who knew him then think that he has not really changed from demanding that his chosen one be as devoted as him. Jealousy might even be a consideration. These days, such a lover might be hard to come by, given that MS is already an established celebrity and busy with work.
