Getting Secretly Prepared

For Promising Actor (PA), criticisms on his awful acting in one of his early projects prompted him to improve his craft, rather than retaliate against his critics. His journey was not easy, but the management saw something in him such that the top heads supported his growth with challenging projects and motivating directors. Today, the production team is no longer afraid that PA will not deliver in many challenging scenes.

With his impressive progress, PA has a well-kept secret in his preparation for heavy dramatic scenes. This alleged secret was found out because a Staff Head (SH) was curious. Good actors know that memorizing lines is just a fraction of the preparation they bring to the set. The remaining part belongs to how such lines are delivered. Motivation is needed to bring out the emotion and tension needed for acceptable delivery. Such is the secret of PA.

A few minutes before PA was going to be called for a heavy scene, he said he was going for a quick bathroom break. His habit became noticeable, but most of the production team dismissed it as a run of nervousness and a need to pee. So, PA rushing to the comfort room was not new. However, after his so-called CR break, someone noticed his pants had watermarks, which PA said could have gotten wet when he was urinating. As the spots would be seen, the head decided to take a break until his pants dried out for the sake of continuity. However, no one really pointed out that PA was still bulging and the excuse to dry off his pants was really to make his manhood relax.

One time, the production had to shoot outdoors and PA was up for a major scene. He wanted to go on his CR break, but the nearest restroom was in the hotel, which was far from their location. PA still excused himself, and said he needs to relieve himself. PA left the set-up and walked until he found a private spot. Unknown to him, SH followed him. After sometime, SH peaked into what PA was doing and he was not shocked, but surprised. PA was looking at his phone and jacking off. What caught the eye of SH was the photo PA was getting high on. The face was not that of his reel/real partner, but of another Female Actress (FA) of their network.

Then, PA realized he was being watched and had no choice but to call out SH as well. Embarrassed, PA admitted that he needed to get off to prepare for a big scene. SH said that his action was understandable, as every actor has his/her own style of getting motivation for a scene. Nonetheless, SH could only smile and could not blame PA for using FA’s photo to get excited.
