The older generation of celebrities are always reminding newbies of manners and conduct as they progress in their careers. The main advice is to make sure they treat everyone involved in the production, from the ones who do the most menial jobs to the most senior cast member, with respect. Unfortunately, some young actors cannot seem to take such advice to their hearts and end up in the list of celebrities the production staff would least prefer to work with.
When Accomplished Actress (AA) was hired in a promising project, the production staff was disappointed at the attitude she showed. The cast of the project comprised many of the big names of senior talents as well as the network’s own homegrown ones. Hence, AA was expected to at least be cordial to them and the staff. Unfortunately, AA showed them her attitude that indicated she was moving on her terms.
AA would allegedly arrive late on the set and want an early pack-up. Thus, many scenes were hurriedly done to appease AA. For the accounting staff, early packing up of the set incurs cost as the taping day is not maximized. Moreover, most local shows have a schedule to meet and with delays or early packups, editing has to be rushed, as the taped scenes are likely to be shown the next day.
As AA continued with her indifference to the requests if she could stay longer, the production staff gave her what she was sowing. Eventually, AA noticed that no one was talking to her anymore. Even her co-actors were not minding her and were merely civil toward her. AA acted and wrote an email to the top management of the network claiming that the staff of her project were rude and treating her like a nobody. The executives investigated her complaint and were shocked at the result.
The report indicated that AA was unpleasant to work with and was allegedly tagged with the “b” word as a co-worker. Worse, no one from the production staff said a good word about her. The findings were short of saying that the network’s production staff loathed her as a celebrity they have to work with and they would rather work with someone else.
Sadly, the promising project ended shorter than expected. The ratings were low and the commercial load was minimal. However, AA still has another project to work on, as per her contract. The problem is that the production staff are wary of working with her unless she changes her attitude and apologizes for her indifference and lack of congeniality.
