Don’t Dare Say Anything

The usual practice in promoting projects is for designated actors to do the rounds of the flagship shows of networks. Hence, not only would such actors be given exposure, they would be able to say good words why their products or projects should be patronized. These flagship shows have a wide reach, which producers recognize. Thus, producers know that their payment for guesting their actors would result in higher returns, as the presence of their actors can generate interest in the projects that are being promoted. However, when the audience realized why this particular promotional strategy was not implemented prior to the showing of a hit movie, all they could do was to scratch their heads and wonder if Prized Talent (PT) indeed appeared in a Network Show (NS).
NS did allocate time for PT to promote a project. As PT hardly gives interviews, NS took advantage of the moment to ask PT questions no reporter would dare ask in her face. First up were questions about intimacy, such as if PT has ever slept next to man, watched porn, and having made out. NS was a spontaneous show that requires for the guest to be as witty as possible to match the dynamism of the host. This time, the host was shocked because PT gamely answered all the questions. Her responses contrasted her conservative, forever teenager image. PT was witty and honest. Allegedly, she even mentioned the name of one of her earlier rumoured boyfriends when asked whom she was referring to in her answers. Her performance could have broken all ratings, but someone was very much displeased.
After the first set of questions, reminders were stressed, as the flow of the program was becoming vulgar and embarrassing, as far as Close Handler (CH) was concerned. When CH saw the rushes of the first set, she asked for PT and the host to step down. Everything was at a standstill. The host apologized and said certain parts will just be edited out. CH would not hear of such and said the episode should be cancelled.
The NS production team tried to explain to CH that cancelling an episode at the last minute is highly improbable. Besides, costs have been incurred. All it took was one phone call from CH to the Top Brass (TB), who said that his outfit will take care of the problem. TB knows the cost if he incurs the ire of CH. Hence, no more second round of questions and no episode was shown.
The issue between PT and CH did not stop there. As soon as they were walking toward the car, CH started to reprimand PT and called her out for her seeming lack of education and decorum in her replies. PT said that the show was fun and a comedy, hence her answers. Without having finished her sentence, she felt her cheek hurting. CH would hear none of that reasoning and allegedly stopped PT with her palm.
For a couple of days, PT and CH did not speak to each other. PT stayed in her room. When Brave Boyfriend (BB) learned of the incident, he felt that PT wanted to get away from CH. He did what he could, but as always, his actions were limited. Meanwhile, CH vowed that as long as she lives, PT will never again grace NS with her presence.
