Actions Speak Louder

Despite constant denials, actions can often lead to speculations and negated statements coming from celebrities themselves. Affairs, sexuality, age, and dark pasts are often the subject of rumors that celebrities would immediately deny. Some celebrities have secrets so deep that the initial revelation of such would result in outright refusal and circumventing statements to lead the public away from the truth.
The basic reason for denials is protection of the image. For example, talents that are groomed to become matinee idols should have impeccable records, as they are expected to become role models for fans. Thus, if a well-known talent suddenly reveals having a child at the height of his/her career, the popularity rating would definitely drop. The management would then do damage control to make sure that honesty could still save that celebrity with a shocking revelation.
The most denied subject when it comes to rumors is one’s sexuality. Celebrities who have come out are so few and they can be counted with just one’s fingers. Admitting to be part of the LBGTQI community comes with career consequences, such as limited opportunities and stereotyped roles in projects. Perhaps, such is the reason Potential Matinee idol (PM) would rather deny his sexual preference even though social media posts seem to make his world quite colorful.
Over the years, PM had to live with stories about his sexual preference. PM has the looks and at one point in his career, was considered as a would-be leading man. Unfortunately, PM has yet to get that big break that would propel him to stardom. He is known, but his fame hinged more on rumors of his sexual orientation. He has denied being gay in public just to quash the persistent rumors.
Although PM has denied the rumor, private citizens are still puzzled at his actions. One time, he was seen in the elevator of his building with a known bisexual dancer from the other station. They were obviously going to his unit and observers speculated on his action, as he immediately attempted to close the elevator door to prevent other passengers to ride with them. However, a unit owner had faster fingers and pushed the open button just in time, and thus, PM and his “date” had to share the ride. If PM had nothing in mind with his guest, then he would have allowed other passengers in the elevator, but that seemed not to be his intention.
