Cheapskate Celebrity

One of the convenient advantages of having an automated network is online shopping. Without having to brave the traffic to go to an actual physical store, customers can merely spend hours surfing sites and choosing the products they like. These days, selling online has become a lucrative business as long as one is also familiar with the market. Although online selling comprises thousands of sellers, some are familiar with each other and even share the same experiences.

One of the stories shared among online sellers is their common experience with Miser Celebrity (MC). Thus, when they get a message from MC, they know what the next move will be. Apparently, MC loves to go shopping online and when she finds an item she likes, she can be very upfront. If prices are not indicated in posts, inquiring customers are sent private messages in reply to their query about such matters. In the case of MC, her inquiries are not about the price of the item of her interest, rather, she makes a request that often leaves sellers puzzled.

Although MC is not seen on TV lately, she does have a career and a stable background. In other words, even without a regular show, MC will not be hungry, as her family can very well spend for her needs. Thus, online sellers initially get shocked when MC tells them directly that she wants a particular item from their product list. There is no offer to pay, as what MC wants, she wants to get free. While other celebrities would offer an ex-deal for a product, MC does not even present such proposal. She merely asks the seller to give the item to her. Out of embarrassment, online sellers sometimes give in to MC. Others think of the possibility that MC might use her social media following if they do not adhere to her wish.

However, for people who are familiar with MC, such attitude is not surprising at all. Even from her endorsements, MC can ask for something that seems to be beyond the scope of her deal. For example, if she has to grace an event of the endorser, she will say that she has nothing to wear. The company gives in to the hint and sends her something to wear. Thus, MC has a reputation for asking stuff and not bothering to pay. This attitude is far from the caring image she projects in her appearances.

The joy in the younger brother’s eyes was evident with their mother’s presence in a special time such as Christmas, finally, as one family.

"Pinoy Big Brother: 737" winner Miho Nishida sent social media abuzz last week with her "improved looks".

The actress, who guested Monday on DZMM Teleradyo's Showbuzz, explained why she decided to make changes in her appearance.

"Siyempre, bilang isang artista, para sa akin kung gusto kung lagi tayong maganda. And then happy ako kung ano ang meron sa akin. Mas lalong tumaas iyung confidence ko, so yes," she said.

Nishida played coy when pressed by radio host Ahwel Paz if she went under the knife.

"Ha? Siyempre, i-improved," she said.

She was part of Bench Under The Stars denim and underwear fashion show on Nov. 18 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Last Dec. 3, Nishida posted photos on her Instagram that became an online discussion among netizens.

Nishida will be headlining her first major concert, "I Am Unstoppable", at the Music Museum in San Juan on Dec. 20.
