Moving Away

Despite the clamor of fans, a network has to look at every project involving its talents from the business perspective and career growth of the concerned artists. The reality is that if popularity does not translate to ratings and advertising revenues, then the projects designated for certain stars have to be thought out very carefully. This dilemma is now being faced by a big network, as the last project of their popular love team did not fare as expected in the rating game.

While storylines for the loveteam can be generated easily by the creative team of the network, certain considerations beyond the project are seriously discussed. In the last project of the said loveteam, the Third Wheel Performer (WP) was lambasted by the fans to the point that WP had to undergo therapy afterwards.

The social media experience was too much for WP, and the fanbase of the loveteam can be very harsh at whoever comes close to the pair. The fandom only wants the actor for the actress and anyone else will be subjected to below the belt tirades. Thus, any other celebrity who will play the counterpoint will definitely suffer from the wrath of certain fans. While people would say that social media bashing is now part of showbiz careers, some fans go to the extent of threatening even family members, which is already way beyond any project. Even if threats are made via social media, no one really knows if certain fans might suddenly resort to actually making good their desire to hurt celebrities who are merely playing roles.

In the coming year, the network is bent on making Network Entertainer (NE) shine as a solo/independent performer or as a partner to the homegrown talents of the network. Besides, the Reel Partner (RP) of NE belongs to another management. What does not help in bringing the two back together is the occasional conflict between RP’s camp and NE’s management when it comes to the pair.

With these considerations, the question remains if the loveteam of NE and RP will be formally broken apart or will only take the backseat as other options are explored. After all, both NE and RP could grow better if given separate paths. Nonetheless, fans remain hopeful that a change of heart will happen and a project featuring the two will materialize by next year.

Belo Medical Group Stays with Belo, Not for Sale

Around the time of the wedding of Drs. Hayden Kho and Vicky Belo, a rumor went around that negotiations for the Belo Medical Group were underway. Another rumor said that the beauty empire has already been sold. The alleged reasons for selling was that Dr. Belo wanted to live a quiet life without pressure of running a highly successful business and that she wanted to spend more time with her family.

In a talk with Dr. Belo recently, she stressed that such rumors are not true at all. The Belo Medical Group is not for sale. Given the reputation and image of the clinic, several parties have come forward and offered a price for the business. The offers were attractive, but Dr. Belo realized that the parties did not have the same vision as she has.

The company is more than just a business for Dr. Belo, as it is the result of her years of hard work to make the lives of people better. The business succeeded because of her passion to change the perception that beauty should just be limited to people who have the genes. Moreover, Filipinos should have access to quality services to enhance their beauty. Her vision includes continuing to be the leading company in the beauty industry, promoting medical tourism, and making the Belo group as an internationally known destination for cosmetic surgery and dermatological services.
