Trying to Be Cool

After spending an hour just to tape a fifteen-minute interview, Program Host (PH) heaved a sigh of relief, as Young Star (YS) gave him a headache as they talked. YS was invited to promote her latest project and PH had his list of questions that bordered on her life and projects as well. The solid fanbase of YS would guarantee viewership and ratings for the show of PH.

As the interview progressed, PH was surprised that YS was responding in English. PH continued with his spontaneous style even though speaking in English was not usual for YS. Then, PH realized that YS was trying very hard to use hifalutin words. While the words sounded impressive, YS was using the words wrongly. Hence, her answers were incomprehensible and were not at all answering the questions properly. Moreover, her grammar errors were disturbing. Being comfortable in English, PH realized that YS was trying to be whom she was not by speaking in English, a language she was obviously not comfortable with.

Ever since YS was discovered, her appeal rested in the way her fans viewed her. Coming from humble beginnings, YS embodied every child’s dream, as she managed to rise above poverty and finally gave her family members a home they deserved. Her hard work in her network is admirable, as she is considered a bankable star even without a loveteam partner. She tried singing, dancing, and acting, and she was successful. Years passed and YS managed to overcome intrigues that crossed her path. However, she needed to sustain her status, as one is only as good as his/her last project.

The basic option to keep fans interested in her was to keep up with the changing times. Hence, the network decided to take a risk by giving YS a challenging role. YS took her role seriously and even off camera, she continued to practice what she has been learning in a present project.

However, today’s celebrities cannot be just contented with appearances in one medium. So, YS ventured into various media channels and her latest project booked her an appearance in the show of PH. YS is not new to being interviewed, but what was off was her attempt at responding in English. During the interview, which was taped, PH thought that YS understood his questions in English. As her answers started to drift away, PH suddenly turned to the camera and asked for the interview to pause for a moment. Nonetheless, a commitment had to be honored, and walking out of an interview out of frustration is not his style. After a few minutes, the interview resumed, but at the back of the mind of PH was the length of airtime that had to be edited out to protect YS from making a fool of herself.

Accomplishing Things Easily

A project, term paper, chores, reports and anything that needs to get done, we all have that. Accomplishing something especially if you have a lot of other things to do can be quite a difficult task however, there are ways in order for you to do it easily.

Make a timeline and make it realistic. When you line up your tasks, you have to create a deadline for yourself in order to accomplish it on a timely manner.
List everything that needs to get done. This way, you won’t forget anything.
When given a hard task, do not panic. Stay calm, collected and focused instead.
