Denied Attempt

One way to raise ratings is to come up with marketing strategies that could attract more people to watch a show. The most common way is to entice viewers via contests or raffles. The chance to win money or any valuable object has been tried and tested, especially by the big networks. However, the problem here is that if the show does not have the budget or the sponsors and if such scheme does not fall within the theme of the show.

The less costly strategy is to utilize the celebrities in the show. For instance, the simple act of teasing co-hosts or co-actors could add interest to the show, and sometimes, pushing the parties involved to be cozy with each other could do wonders to ratings.

When Strong-Willed celebrity (SW) and Evolving Talent (ET) started to be matched in their show, it seems that everyone was supportive for the two to become an item. After all, both are unattached and not parties would be hurt. The two seemed perfect for each other, as their personalities complement each one. For example, SW can be outspoken, while ET can be sweet and charming. Besides, the two were behaving comfortably with each other on and off the camera. Thus, their chemistry was becoming obvious.

Sensing a marketing strategy that could salvage the ratings of their show, the two were informed of the idea of being pushed as a loveteam. SW initially agreed and found the idea interesting. Meanwhile, ET will do anything to make sure he maintains his career. However, after sometime, SW declined the idea and requested not to push the idea. The life of SW and ET are intertwined. Allegedly, someone very close of SW now was quite close to a former lover of ET. Thus, SW would not want that person to again be left out again in case she and ET would become a loveteam. However, it could simply be that SW does not want to be linked to ET at all.

In the highly competitive world of entertainment shows, every rating point matters, and thus, every possible way to increase ratings is implemented to draw viewers. Given the request of SW, the decision of the production is most awaited.
