Sure Mess

Decision after decision has worsened the travails of Bewildered Celebrity (BC). Once deemed to be one of the industry’s treasures, BC has had very limited exposure to the public and would just resurface when she has a new project or remembered by her colleagues. After a failed marriage and several relationships thereafter, BC was unable to regain her composure and somewhere along the way, allowed herself to succumb to vices.

The behavior of BC has become questionable and behind the screen, she is slowly wrecking everything she stood for, and worse, everything she has earned during her glory days. BC is in deep debt, which resulted from her heavy involvement in gambling allegedly. As she gained much respect during her prime, colleagues and family seemed to have let her be. Although she would still be of interest to her fans, networks are wary of giving her projects.

According to the grapevine, BC was the original choice to play a marked role in an afternoon soap. However, when she was asked to report for work, she was allegedly too doped to be fit for the challenge. Thus, the network turned to comebacking actress, who has earned praises for giving justice to the role. Moreover, projects with another network were all cancelled because BC was too involved in alcohol, gambling, and allegedly, drugs.

The gravity of her mismanaging of her funds as a result of her vices has led to her pad, which was given by a relative, to being foreclosed by the bank. Her credit cards have been closed, as she could no longer pay them. Thus, she had to resort to borrowing money from now Low Profile Personality (PP).

One way or another, PP and BC are interconnected, as their relationships, past and present, are related. Over the years, both have developed their friendship as well. Sometime ago, BC did PP a huge favor, which made the former disloyal to a very famous personality. This favor is now the leverage that BC uses to ask money from PP. However, when PP found out about the booze, casino, and other things, she stopped entertaining BC.

Then, one day, PP was shocked as BC went to where she was and threatened to make a scandal if she does not give her money. PP was shocked at the behavior of BC, but gave in when she heard the story of BC. With her gambling problem, casino loan sharks are going after her, and her inability to pay could lead to dire consequences. Not wanting such possible outcome for BC and with compassion, PP did what she could to help out BC. She opened her wallet.

As to whether BC would finally come to her senses is a mystery. She seems to have plunged herself in such complications that she could not escape from. Even though people would want to help her out, if she does not learn to love herself again, then she will continue falling.

A most awaited moment in local showbiz is the wedding of Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna. After all, seeing one of showbiz’s eligible bachelors choosing his lifetime partner is inspiring, as the couple defied the age-gap stereotype. In their case, age was obviously not an issue, as people saw the happiness they brought to each other.

Naturally, after their marriage, the next exciting moment is the arrival of a little Vic or a little Pauleen. After a year or so of waiting, Vic announced their pregnancy right on his birthday celebration on Eat Bulaga! While the revelation caught Pauleen by surprise, she could not contain her excitement, as their followers, friends, and family shared the joy in the news as well.

If the appearance of Pauleen on the show is lesser, fans should not worry, as she is taking it easy to make sure their baby will not be stressed with the demands of her career. However, an interesting rumor is that the couple allegedly resorted to in vitro fertilization to hasten the pregnancy. According to the Mayo Clinic, in vitro fertilization is a “treatment for infertility or genetic problems.” Nonetheless, the earlier the baby comes, the more time the couple could spend on their bundle of joy.

Why are the Dabarkads Silent on the ‘Na-ano’ Issue?

As soon as the transcript and video of Senator Tito Sotto remarking ‘na-ano’ to Secretary Judy Taguiwalo’s being a single mother went online, netizens and other groups started to lambast the senator for what was deemed as an insensitive statement.

The senator later on defended the remark as merely a joke, and a statement that the hosts of Eat Bulaga frequently use in their segments. However, the effect had gone went viral and reactions varied from giving tribute to being a single mother to hitting family members of the senator. Thus, the likes of Megastar Sharon Cuneta had to defend the senator and even Danica Pingris appealed to netizens to spare the senator’s daughter, Ciara, from the bashing. Ciara and an older sister are both single mothers, by the way.

Among the loud reactions on the ‘na-ano’ remark came from celebrities of ABS-CBN, the rival network of GMA, which airs Eat Bulaga! Observers are wondering why, unlike the talents of the other network, EB personalities have chosen to remain silent on the remark, as the Dabarkads seemed to have neither condemned nor supported the senator on the brouhaha. In other words, it was as though nothing happened. Except for Aiza Seguerra, no one from the show has reacted in one way or another.

Was She Authentic or Loathsome?

For every successful talent or one that is secured by a network contract, expect tens of talents waiting. Thus, for someone who has no connection, but is signed by a network, such is a great opportunity. This situation means that the network saw the potential of the unknown and will use its resources to make him/her known. Therefore, anyone granted this chance should make the best out of the moment. In the same way, any opportunity to appear in public is seen as a chance to commune with fans and potential followers.

However, talents are faced with the dilemma of trying to please everyone or being true to themselves. Some talents know that any negative behavior they display can be misconstrued by observers, who might not even have the slightest idea of the different sides of the story. Pretty Newbie (PN) is now being subjected to bashing based on her alleged rude behavior.

During a recent seasonal event, certain parties claimed that PN had no right to react the way she did, as she was already fully paid and everything that she needed was prepared ahead of time. Claims ranged from PN not smiling nor waving enough to the lines of curious people who waited for hours just to see her and other celebrities grace the occasion. Fans even accused PN of being a hypocrite with her seemingly insincere reaction.

Although PN has already been mentioned in some articles for having an attitude problem, her behavior at that event was defended by people close to her. First, PN arrived early for the event that allegedly started late. Of course, PN had to be fully made up and dressed to make sure she was distinct from the rest of the participants. With her having to move around in the appropriate outfit and footwear amidst the sea of people, the heat could get on her nerves. PN could have probably been behaving like any young person would under such conditions. Nonetheless, that is something that PN should learn early in her career.

As a budding celebrity with big dreams, PN has to master hiding the pain and the truth as people only see the surface. Ironically, when the battle cry is for celebrities to be true, people seem to forget that showing feelings of pain and irritation is part of being honest, and thus, they would merely bash without understanding the context. Well, PN could just learn the best way to handle such issues. She’s young and if she wants to succeed, then she will have to learn after grinning and bearing the moment.
