Eddie Boy Villamayor, the youngest brother of Nora Aunor, died at past 5 o’clock yesterday morning at the FEU Hospital in Fairview, Quezon City, where he was confined for more than one year after suffering a stroke.
“He was in his mid-50s,” said Nora’s cousin Lala Aunor, now a businesswoman semi-retired from showbiz. “The wake might be held at Mt. Carmel Church (Broadway St., Quezon City) but the interment, which will be at the family mausoleum at the Loyola Memorial Park in ParaƱaque, has yet to be announced.”
Eddie Boy was a member of the ‘70s teen group Apat Na Sikat which included Arnold “Notnot” Gamboa, Dondon Nakar, Winnie Santos (Vilma’s sister now based with her family in the US) and Lala herself. They were a regular in the late Ike Lozada’s show Big Ike’s Happening.
Eddie Boy also appeared in films mostly produced by Nora’s company, one of them Alkitrang Dugo (inspired by the classic Lord of the Flies by William Golding) directed by Lupita A. Kashiwahara.
Besides Nora, Eddie Boy is survived by his sister Tita (widow of actor Arnold Mendoza) who is based in the US. Their two deceased brothers were Ernesto and Oscar.

The Cost of Loving Her Career

Most often, these secrets concern siring children outside of marriage. When a celebrity commits infidelity and the transgression bears fruit, the child is either shielded from reality or exposed to the public in a bid to call attention, especially if denials are made left and right by the alleged parent.
In the case of An Actress (AA), her career followed the stereotypical path. After establishing her status in the industry, AA opted to go on a long break. Thus, the public immediately assumed that she was at an interesting stage. However, the other issue was finding out the alleged father. Then, fingers pointed at Inconspicuous Businessman (IB). A celebrity in his own field, his connections allowed him to meet with AA and he was smitten.
The problem with the attraction of IB to AA is that he is pictured to be a happily married man. Hence, connecting his name to AA could cause a great deal of embarrassment. To avoid any scandal, IB provided support for his alleged child (HC) with AA. The support was good enough for AA to raise HC well. However, that meant leaving showbiz for the meantime, which AA did not seem to mind.
Time passed. AA found her happiness and HC has grown into an adorable child. Now, the desire to work kept calling AA. After carefully studying her options, AA chose a project. When friends of IB found out what AA did, they immediately informed IB, who, it turns out, did not like the idea of AA working. Besides, his investment was not in the project of AA, which made him disappointed. Hence, IB reacted by removing the financial support he has been giving AA, but retained the support for HC.
Despite the reaction of IB, no one is expecting AA to complain or use the public to gain sympathy. As far as she is concerned, she would rather continue keeping her life private to spare HC from the curious.
