A Revealing Encounter

The edge of Secretive Hunk (SH) over the current crop of talents in his network is that he did not go through a reality show nor did he have any blood relations in the industry. SH passed through the traditional way, which was modeling on the ramp and for ads until he was noticed for his looks and physique. Someone had a good eye in choosing SH and introducing him to the bosses. SH was perfect for the talent the network needed to pair off with one of their Famous Female (FF) talents then.

Although FF was ripe for solo stardom and she has the talents to sustain her career, the network opted to pair her with SH. Surprisingly, their tandem clicked and that paved the way for SH to reach his present status. Thus, SH has his adoring fans, endorsements, provincial and international tours, as well as good roles in TV and movies.

As soon as the blessings came, people noticed that SH was changing as well. From a meek and humble talent at the beginning, SH started showing arrogance and tactlessness in public, and these incidents have caused him much negative publicity. However, the network believes he still has much box office draw, and thus, damage control was immediately done to cover up for his misdeeds.

Yet, SH has not been careful in covering his true self. When he was abroad, SH thought he could explore the city and be himself. So, SH went to an exclusive men’s club, where one can only get in through invitation. Everything was supposed to be discreet. As SH was chatting with a good-looking older man, he realized someone else was glancing at him. When SH realized the familiar face, he started to be uncomfortable. He was already seen and he knew he might not be able to bully his way this time.

In the same club was Actor Director (AD), who has long been rumored to be gay. Although AD has yet to come out, stories about him having a partner abroad have always made the rounds of the gossip columns. However, AD belongs to a highly respected family of entertainers, which could probably explain why no one has dared to confirm such rumors. At his age now, AD no longer cares about such rumors on his sexuality because he is happy. He merely shrugs off such rumors. Besides, he has reached the peak of his career years ago and a gay rumor would no longer harm his achievements. By contrast, the situation is not the same for SH.

Another rumor that has been confronting SH is that of his sexuality. Several people have even justified his moods by connecting his behavior with the unhappiness of not being able to come out. Of course, SH cannot just come out, as admitting his alleged preference for the same sex could spell the end of his career and cause the followers of his loveteam to abhor him.

When AD spotted SH in the said club, he moved a bit closer to verify if the cute guy who was chummy with an older man were indeed SH. As soon as SH turned, he unwittingly established eye contact with AD. The scene was awkward and so was the exchange of “Hi’s.” After a while, AD had to leave. Before he could make it to the door, SH caught him and asked if he could keep their accidental meeting a secret. AD said he understands where SH is coming from and left.

Unfortunately, AD could not help himself and relayed the incident to someone in the production team of the network. After all, the meeting confirms the mystery surrounding SH. The question now is how SH feels whenever he has to work with AD.
