Dear Fashion Pulis,
Good day! I am writing if I can share with your readers my horrible experience in this animal clinic. I feel it is my responsibility to let the public be aware of this veterinary clinic's malpractice. I am doing this not just for my dog who cannot walk properly anymore after being vaccinated there, but also for my fellow pet parents out there who are paying right but are not given the service that their pets deserve. Sharing my story would mean a lot.
May I give this warning to all: Be careful every time you bring your dogs to Fil-Chi Animal Clinic ( Benavidez Branch). Always make sure to ask first if the person attending to your dog is a licensed veterinarian and not just someone pretending to be one. My dog became a victim and cannot walk properly anymore after getting vaccinated there.
A month ago, I brought my 4-year old Chihuahua for her annual vaccination to Fil-Chi Animal Clinic. My Chihuahua had two kinds of vaccination that day. One was given on her back and the other one was on her right foot. The "veterinarian" informed me that the injected area might get swollen for the next 3 to 4 days which I believe was normal. It happened in the past when dogs get better and back to normal several days after the vaccination.
Unfortunately in this case, my dog's foot did not heal. One week after the vaccination, I noticed how she could not walk properly and there were times she would fall when taking the stairs. When I checked her foot, I was surprised to see this swollen part on her right leg (almost the size of P25 coin).
I brought her back to the clinic the very next day. I asked the "vet" what went wrong. He told me not to worry and it was going to be fine. He said what happened was just an allergic reaction so I believed him. (Now I felt so stupid for believing him!) The "vet" prescribed medication for my dog to take daily, which I administered to her for a week. And so another week passed by and nothing had changed - my dog can't still walk normally.
For weeks, I could barely sleep, suddenly it got to me to verify this veterinarian if he was a licensed one or not. The next day, I called different agencies to verify and to my horror found out that the veterinarian is a fake! He used his girlfriend's license number to practice veterinary! (this I found out in his Facebook account. They are in a relationship for 10 years now.)
I went back to the clinic and talked to the owner about my concern, and he insisted that veterinarian assistants are authorized to practice as long as with supervision of a licensed veterinarian. In those times, there was no one licensed veterinarian who supervised this fake vet. This I could not accept. I called up PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) office and they said they are only allowed under a special permit ( like if it is used for special mission, etc.).
I had already submitted a formal complaint to Fil-Chi Animal Clinic last week but I have yet to get a reply from them. To the owner of Fil-Chi Animal Clinic, this I have to say: If you do not care for customer complaints like this, how much more will you care for animal's well-being that you are supposed to protect?
Thank you, Fashion Pulis for giving me a space in your blog.
Sincerely,
Cheska
