Must You Be So Rude

The recent spate of various diseases has prompted the airport to implement precautionary measures to prevent, or at least, monitor the possible entry of such diseases into the country. Hence, even if arriving passengers have to be inconvenienced for a few minutes, everyone has to abide by the procedures. However, some celebrities push their way to skip them.

Not too long ago, former actress politician (FA) shocked and irked people when she arrived from a trip abroad. Together with her common law partner (LP), children, and nanny, FA proceeded to the desk to turn over the forms that were asked of them to fill up. The attention of FA was called because FA only wrote her name and left the other entries blank. Worse, the other members of her entourage did not fill up any form at all. Before the clerk could utter anything, FA said rudely that she should not be bothered by anything as they were all very tired. Before anyone could reply, FA turned her back and walked away. The personnel could only wonder at the brashness of FA.

Through the years, despite FA leaving the limelight to pursue a life with LP, she would still be entangled with controversies that would be played up in the tri-media for weeks. Even her children have joined the fray and have used social media to vent out their feelings against certain family members. Sadly, even these kids have been perceived to have uncouth behavior not only towards the public, but also even towards their former closest kin.

Have the experiences of FA jaded her heart, such that she has taken to being rude instead of showing graciousness towards ordinary people? As a parent, she should be an example of good manners to her children, who are not exactly polite as some people perceive. You know what they say that in the eyes of a child, even a wrong becomes right if done by an elder.
