The Shocking Revelation

A Talent Manager TM and its Valued Talent VT, particularly VT's camp VTC, had one big feud last year. VTC had misgivings on TM's questionable dealings pertaining to VT's projects. VTC belatedly realized that TM had been defrauding them of VT's rightful income for years since he got to manage VT.

Other management terms and conditions were likewise unfavorable to VT from the very beginning. But since VT and VTC did not know any better then, they just went with it and inked that contract with TM.

Years later, VTC got wind of the enormous discrepancy in VT's real income versus the figures declared to them by TM. VTC confronted him right away. But it seemed that there was news blackout because nothing regarding the controversial matter was heard of since.

Fast forward to recent events -- TM, VT and VTC were on a meeting discussing about VT's expiration of management contract. Allegedly, VT and VTC were not keen on renewing anymore, for obvious reasons. As the meeting progressed, TM finally admitted to VTC and VT his guilt over the discrepancies he did in the past that placed VT at a great financial disadvantage. VT and VTC were shocked at the revelation. But knowing how shrewed TM can be, he was able to soften the blow to both VT and VTC.

How? By giving them peace offering.
What kind of peace offering? Cash.
How much? Close to Php 5Million, for all these years.
In exchange for? Renewal of management contract, at least for a year.

In the glitzy world of showbiz, not all men are created equal. Some young and good looking men out there don't get as much opportunities no matter how hard they try. On the other hand, there are those who are a lot senior in age, yet one is surprised that they get more breaks and favors. What gives that good fortunes and luck keep smiling at them?

This Hot Hunk HH never had it so good. He seems to have it all - right timing and perfect networking. Not to mention - strategies that can only come from someone who had been polished from all the many experiences in his life. HH who has nothing really physically outstanding except his to-die-for body had been getting the breaks since the time he entered showbiz.

HH's peers who are younger and are more appealing can't help but turn green with envy. And why not? Lucky HH had starred in big projects opposite the hottest female stars in town, given enviable endorsements and tv shows. What's more to ask? You'll be surprised, HH doesn't know how to say No. He seems wired to accept whatever comes his way -- yes, as in everything.

Recently, HH's manager had booked him for a night with a rich Asian businessman. You read it right -- client is a He who willingly agreed to pay the fee asked for by HH. The deal was finalized at a staggering Php850,000 -- for one night! For the uninitiated, the total fee could have been Php1Million -- less Php150,000 for the agent's commission I assume?

A man who does not regard himself as gay, but who is prepared to do "it" with male clients for money, is sometimes called "gay for pay." Having said that, is HH now the new entrant into the world's oldest profession? So smart of him -- HH really works hard for the money.

Disgusted Star DS must really be having one of her worst of times these days. DS has had it, she is full of frustration towards her Previous Relationship PR. In a twist of fate, whether it was intentional or not, PR made insensitive choices that hit DS so bad. From then on, many things were never the same again between DS and an Ex-Chum EC.

DS and EC are now victims of their own personal circumstances, made even worse by the fact that they simply can't avoid being together. Allegedly, DS' disgust towards PR has reached fever pitch these days, and that she doesn't want to be reminded anymore about anything related to him. As in everything that is connected to PR, DS wanted them out of her sight pronto.

Thus one day, she gathered all the expensive gifts (there were tons of them) that PR had given her when they were still a couple. She had them all returned and delivered to PR. PR although shocked, had no choice but to accept them all, yet didn't have any idea what to do with them.

When EC found out about the returned gifts, she could not believe how plenty and expensive they were. So, from out of the blue, she volunteered to PR that she would take care of them. She came up with the "brilliant" plan of selling them and donating the proceeds to charity. No one would really know for sure though as to how EC really felt when she saw all those gifts of PR to DS.

Was EC's gesture a way to assuage a personal hurt -- or something with vested interest -- or both? Whatever her reasons, the end is the same -- she gets to have the cake and eat it, too. The big question now is, what will happen to the unsold items? Does she get to keep them? You guess is as good as mine!

Moderating One's Greed

When networks employ child star talents to ink management contract with them, it is imperative that special provisions are in place to make sure that their rights as children are protected. The government has been strict on this as contained in the provisions of DOLE ( Department of Labor and Employment) a government organization that safeguards the rights of the working children (15 years old and below) against a working environment that is abusive - mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful.

But apart from that, there are some violations that exist and these have something to do with management contract. A major network MN has a child star CS under its management. The little star is not that popular yet but talented enough to get MN's interest to put her under its roster of talents. In fact the little girl had already appeared in a teleserye topbilled by MN's most popular loveteam. When the show ended several months ago, MN already stopped giving projects to CS.

When they inquired from MN executives, they were told that MN can not be made to adjust their program's taping schedules to suit CS'. Apparently, the child is attending school and her camp asks MN for considerations or a little adjustment so that she wouldn't miss school and can still work, something which was contained in the contract that CS signed with them in the first place. What CS' camp was asking is exactly the provision contained under DOLE. But sad to say, MN prefers to look the other way and violate their own contract.

What's making it more difficult is that CS has other offers from another major network AN where her schedules would not be a problem because the program itself make adjustments' to their talents' school schedules. Thus CS' camp requested MN that she be released from the contract with them. But sadly, they were always given the run around. Months after, when they made a follow-up, CS camp was disgusted that until then, everything hasn't moved at all, and all they heard were delaying tactics. Apparently, MN wouldn't want to release CS, even though they were not giving her any project for so long.

Lately, MN has been on the losing end after a series of exposes and controversies on the way they are handling/mishandling their stars. Some of their talents are now quietly talking how badly they are treated and paid as compared to stars of other networks. Is this why there are more MN talents now who are non-committal at renewing contracts and have been hinting at transferring networks? This we'll get to see in a few weeks.

Can't Have Enough of Excitement

Who says that only girls get "kilig" when talking about their boyfriends infront of people. Is it true that guys are not as open about it with their friends the way us girls are? Uh oh.. you better think again.

Actually, guys have big mouths and love to brag. They enjoy sharing things and maybe getting tips on how to be better and do better -- and so much more. Give them a drink or two and they will open up and divulge even intimate details for everyone to feast on. Really, when men let their guard down, and have a few beers, anything can happen and every girl is fair game.

During a night of unwinding, this Prominent Personality was with a group of news team from a television network. There was booze and all. After everyone had a few drinks, topic shifted to PP and his lovelife. PP was getting a lot of ribbing from the group.

One reporter teased him, " How lucky can you get, Sir, isn't it! Imagine having such a pretty woman (PW) for a girl?!"

The not-so-pretty boy PP replied playfully, "You are right! Indeed!! Until now, I still can't believe that we are already a couple! Can you imagine, from  *name of PW's ex model-boyfriend*  to me PP, how great is that?! I'm kind of feeling like a super handsome model, too. Wooooh!!"

Then he let out a hearty laughter matched with very loud taps on the table. His last very emphatic and excited statement, in tagalog -- "Ako na, di ba?! Ako na!! hahaha!!"

Awww!! Indeed, "Love is never having to say you're crazy, eerr .. sorry."

Quaint Payment Scheme

Beautiful actress (BA) had it all for many years -- fame, money, tv shows, movies, and the lots of connections. She had a contract with a network that assured her of the exposure and shows that kept everything going for her. Stories of her love life proliferated with the mysterious men of all kinds in her life. Foreigners, prominent politicians, fellow actors -- she had them all. The most colorful of these love interests was talented performer (TP).

When BA and TP came out as a couple, kibitzers immediately dismissed their supposed relationship as a farce. TP was said to be vainer than BA. At the same time, BA was also allegedly involved with a scion of a powerful political family then. Thus, the publicized relationship with TP was just a shield and a form of damage control to save their respective careers.

Now, BA is working doubly hard, often hopping from one channel to another to get much-needed projects. She needed every peso to sustain and maintain the kind of lifestyle she was used to, which is quite unattainable at this point. Undoubtedly, she is no longer as hot and in-demand as she was years back.

A few weeks ago, BA and TP bumped into a show where both of them were guests. Suddenly, BA remembered that she owes TP a few hundred thousand pesos. Before TP could even say anything, BA, in her usual bubbly manner, blurted out tactlessly in front of everyone, “Hey, can I just pay you sometime? Or we can just "make out" in exchange for it, you know?” Those who heard her laughed at her brashness, as they all knew of stories of TP's not-so-secret preferences.

However, there is more to TP than his rumored preference. Unknown to many, TP had lots of "energy" when he and BA were still together, as in they would really make effort to make time for it no matter how busy they were. But that was years ago. Will TP now bite into BA's proposal to do barter? Passionate service in exchange for hard, cold cash? You bet?
