Slow Reaction

Fans and friends of Female Talent (FT) are wondering why her Special Friend (SF) is slow to react and is not behaving as expected for someone who is close to her. FT has been under pressure amidst the imposed quarantine, uncertainty of work, and other related issues. Thus, FT’s circle expects that SF would be the first to express support for FT. That seems not to be the case.

After an unexpected crisis, friends and ordinary netizens expressed support for FT continuously. Meanwhile, no word was heard from SF who found out about the incident late in the evening, as he had overslept. SF allegedly has a nighty skin care routine that takes much time, and thus, leads to him sleeping and waking up late.

As FT seems to be a controversy magnet, nothing immediate was heard from SF when bashers were bludgeoning FT. Other co-workers once again backed up FT. This time, FT’s supporters crossed networks, but still SF was not as vocal. His behavior seemed timid considering he’s a celebrity connected with FT.

One day, FT’s Trusted Pals (TP) asked about the whereabouts of SF. Like many others, TP expected SF to comfort FT even by videocalls, as travel restrictions are imposed under ECQ. FT said that SF might still be asleep, as he has been spending late nights finishing Korean dramas. Then, TP kidded that they and SF are rivals for a cute Korean actor. FT allegedly replied, ‘I have no idea with that gay.’ Probably, FT was still depressed, as her unexpected reply shocked TP. TP then laughed hard and after a few seconds, FT took back what she said.

Quietly, days after the troubled moments, SF posted his message of support for FT. Expectedly, followers reacted with questions on why his reaction was delayed and where he was when FT was alone fighting her battle. Typical of his behavior, SF ignored such comments and bashing, as his priority is having FT in his life. Whether SF thinks of FT as his trophy girlfriend is a question he can only answer.

Breaking up a loveteam and charting different paths without the former partner are risky decisions made by management, especially if the said loveteam has a following. Fans can petition all they want and even flood social media with long posts about hating the new possible partners. However, if the management says ‘no more,’ fans have to move on. The subsequent steps after a breakup of a loveteam face success or failure. While many talents achieved success with new partnerships, Brave Celebrity (BC) is feeling the result of the dissolution of her partnership.

After moving on to her projects without Ex-Partner (EP), BC realized the painful truth that local showbiz is only kind to loveteams, given the tough competition. BC is talented and received words of encouragement that she could succeed on her own, which has already been proven by many of the industry’s respected actresses. Unfortunately, projects without EP did not gross as much as had he been her partner and even a project with big names did not take off as expected despite the high cost. When BC and EP showed chemistry at the time they started, fans came in droves during live performances and in social media. BC and EP were the loveteam to beat until the day they outgrew each other.

Emotionally, BC had to let go of EP. The move was risky but she decided that was for the best. Besides, they move in the same circle, which assured them that their friendship would still be intact. EP gave BC the space she wanted and he moved on as well.

As time passed, EP, according to her friend, wanted to go back to the way she and EP were. She sent feelers and signs, but EP was only interested in friendship. EP was happy with his present status, that is, going to parties as much as he wants and hanging out as a non-committed dude. Although he has BC’s back, he has already increased the distance between him and EP. Rumors say he’s seriously seeing a freelance model from another country, which has sealed off possible ways for EP to return.

Serious Intentions

Although doomsday critics have marked this couple as not going to be a forever, the grapevine says otherwise. Apparently, Male Counterpart (MC) has expressed his serious intentions to make sure he spends his life with Female Actress (FA). MC made his move as a well-thought out plan that considered all possible parties involved.

Partnering MC and FA professionally was a risk taken by producers and for the two to have fallen for each other in real life was the bonus the fans and the bosses had hoped. Like typical loveteams, the two hid their relationship at first, but later on admitted they were official. Their families were able to heave a sigh of relief as the fans had stopped asking if they are together. Moreover, the revelation already stopped other boys and girls in pursuing FA and MC, respectively.

MC planned his popping of the forever question as an event for a trip they were taking, which was nothing ordinary, as they have been using their lull time to travel. MC talked to FA’s Camp (FC) to secure the blessing. However, he was told to think things over, as FC thinks they are still too young despite being over 18.

A few days before FA and MC were leaving, FC talked to MC and asked his intentions. MC replied that he wants to be with FA for the rest of their lives, but an engagement does not mean immediate marriage. He assured FC that they will still have to save for their future, as they intend to lie low or even stop from showbiz after their marriage. Besides, his family has advised him to talk to FC before doing anything surprising. FC gave the blessing that MC needed after the talk.

During the trip, MC was fidgety as he had a Plan A and a Plan B. For Plan A, he wanted a specific sign while on tour and if that sign did not happen, he will move to Plan B. Plan B has a special time-specific location, but that was for a later trip. MC was lucky, the sign he waited for happened and Plan A was set in motion. Everyone in the trip was given strict instructions not to release any photo or video of the proposal. So far, everyone has cooperated.

Coming home, FA was feeling excited, as she was already committed to the man she loves, and nervous, as she had no idea as to how FC would react. To her delight, FC said that MC had spoken to her before their trip and FA has clearance. However, much time will have to pass for the revelation of the said engagement to the public, as the two have decided to focus on their careers first before taking the plunge.
