Longing to Comeback

One of the lessons emphasized in life is to never burn bridges with people, especially with superiors or people who have given one a break in his/her career. In the local entertainment industry, seasoned celebrities who move from one network to another or from one manager to another usually keep quiet on their past associations. If they do say something, the statements are all positive and never one that could damage the reputation of the left-behind management. The reason for such behavior is simple, that is, the ones who left might find themselves coming back.

While moving to another management seems to be a trend these days, especially for actors who do not have projects, Retired Actor (RA) decided to remain where his heart is. Even if RA disappeared for a time and gave the impression he has retired, rumors are circulating that he wants to revive his career.

At the peak of his popularity, RA was estimated to be among the young millionaires of his generation, as his projects did well. Moreover, he was among the most frugal talents, who was not as generous as other celebrities who would spend to make other members of the industry happy. Then, a personal event made him choose to take a hiatus.

Throwing caution to the wind, RA started to enjoy his hard-earned money by traveling abroad and all over the country. RA also spent for the needs and wants of His Love (HL), which turned out to be expensive. Without a steady source of income and relying on his investments, his finances started to dwindle and go down to critical level. Hence, RA felt the time was right to send feelers to Former Bosses (FB).

FB accommodated RA to listen to him. RA explained his predicament and FB understood. However, a comeback was not going to be given to RA on a silver platter. FB reminded RA of his actions, which incurred losses on the part of the production. FB stressed that they cannot risk the possibility of RA just abandoning his projects. More importantly, FB instructed RA to clean his act first. Only if he helps himself could FB help him.

Unknown to RA, FB was very cautious because they found out he was still intoxicating himself, and worse, his venue choices were small and cheap bars in the city. If he decides to undergo rehab, FB would be there for him. After all, FB has given many chances to come-backing talents, and thus, extending help to FB would not really be extraordinary.
