According to insiders, the contract was indeed ready and signatures were the only missing items. FS had agreed to the demands of NA, such as having a high increase in his talent fee compared to his former pay with ON. However, the terms of his contract reached Seasoned Actor (SA). Years ago, FS moved heaven and earth to acquire the services of SA. FS gave in to his demands and soon, his projects came one after the other. Even his time for movies depended on his schedule with the network. Thus, SA prioritized his appearances in FS more than anything else.
As soon as SA found out that NA was going to receive double his income, SA made a call to Favorite Executive (FE) and told her of what he found out. FE then called the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of hiring NA to ask for the contract, as she wanted a review of the details. After studying the terms, FE decided to drop the hiring of NA. OC could not do anything, as higher management already spoke.
When NA found out that the deal was dead, he talked to ON, who had learned that he almost made a big move. As a good actor cannot be left out in the cold, ON offered NA a deal. This time, as there was now a question of loyalty, NA was offered a smaller talent fee and a role that was not as huge as his previous ones. Rather than disappear in oblivion, NA accepted the offer.
Incidentally, SA seems to have some power these days, as rumors have it that he has a secret special relationship with the much-married FE.
‘Our frustration is greater when we have much and want more than when we have nothing and want some. We are less dissatisfied when we lack many things than when we seem to lack but one thing.’ ― Eric Hoffer
