Left Out Again

The behind the scenes rumor mill is active these days on the recent action of Controversial Personality (CP), which may have something to do with her career. Allegedly, CP is going around seeking an agent that would represent her overseas.

Similar to the functions of a manager in the local entertainment industry, an agent can facilitate access to various events for its talent. Overseas, a talent cannot just move on his/her own unless he/she has representation in the form of an agent. The agent negotiates on behalf of the talent. When clients want to hire the services of a talent, offers have to go through the agency. Without an agency, a talent’s career will not at all prosper abroad.

Sometime ago, CP was signed up by an agency, who handled her affairs abroad. The international connection of CP made headlines and raised a few eyebrows of people working in CP’s industry. Nonetheless, CP did bring prestige to her field with that move. Recently, CP contacted another agency, which started the rumor that something was not well with CP and her Present Representation (PR).

PR is a huge agency and being signed up means the agency saw something worthwhile in CP to be included in their roster. However, with the way CP has been reaching out to another agent raised doubt on the quality of their relationship. Speculations range from CP’s dissatisfaction with PR to PR firing CP as a talent. Regardless of the reason, CP needs an agent to be able to have a better network overseas.

As to the response of the agency CP allegedly contacted initially, the agency thumbed down any interest on representing her. Worse, apparently, no agent is interested in including CP in their pool.
