Just Delayed

Lately, the coworkers of Prized Star (PS) are bothered by her seeming lack of zest during work. Known as the best among her peers, expectations are high for PS to deliver in her scenes, and often senior stars like to work with her because she can deliver. These days, PS takes her time to perfect retakes and there are moments when she seems irritated. Speculations are aplenty that something is amiss, but PS has kept quiet.

One time, PS went out on a drinking session with her close friends. The alcohol helped her open up on what has bothering her that has already affected her work. Apparently, PS learned that Longtime Boyfriend (LB) was planning to propose to her. PS and LB are matched well, as they enjoy almost the same activities. Both are achievers and are accepted by their families. Thus, PS has been excited the moment she had a hint, but then time has been passing and she has been getting frustrated. She even said that she’s been waiting too long that she’s already calloused in her most private body part. Although she was humoring her friends, they felt PS was really in a dilemma. Waiting can be frustrating and she was getting impatient.

Unfortunately, that proposal will have to wait. LB has been told by His Manager (HM) of the reality that his stock as lead actor has been dropping. While some of his projects have been acclaimed, his talent is no longer translating to ratings, which has made the station rethink of shifting attention to newer actors. HM advised LB to delay his personal plans until his project is over, as being formally committed would affect his image and lessen his following among women.

The same story seems to be repeating and LB is finding himself in a similar situation where he has to choose between his career and his personal affairs. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking for PS, and her friends wonder as to how long she can wait for LB to finally pop the question. Of course, their fear is that PS might lose interest in someone who cannot promise her the forever that is missing in her life.
