Just Shake it Off

Ironically, while many celebrities have expressed disgust over body-shaming of netizens on their ‘fat’ photos, the idea has been in the industry long before the term was coined. Appearing on the screen follows a set of standards, and often, talents have no choice but to follow these rules. The basic rule is that television adds 10 pounds to a talent’s looks, and thus, he/she must make sure to be within a certain weight limit or else, suffer consequences.

As soon as a major talent has gained weight that could increase his/her size on screen, expect him/her to receive a ‘fat memo.’ The memo points out to the talent that his/her excess weight must be dropped or else, he/she will not be allowed to appear in any project. Hence, many talents have resorted to going to the gym and watching their diets. No one wants to receive such memo.

Unfortunately, Talented Actress (TA) is allegedly the latest talent of the network to be given the ‘fat memo,’ which would explain why she has yet to appear in any major project of the station. TA, no doubt, is among the most talented compared to her contemporaries. Name the talent, she can do it impressively. There was even a time when it was thought that she would be the next star. Things did not turn out that way.

As soon as TA started becoming popular, intrigues followed. Family stories, which were supposed to be very private, leaked. Sympathy seemed to side with TA, who was perceived to be the hapless victim. The assumption was that TA was working very hard, but her family would not allow her to find her true happiness. The process of threshing out her issues resulted in hurt parties. Consequently, the career of TA was affected. Although TA tried to survive the many changes in her life, such as having a perennial screen partner and maturing early, she could not seem to reach the expectation set for her when the network noticed her potential to shine.

Then, despite her mildly successful projects, TA does not have any regular show at the moment. Her colleagues have suddenly moved ahead of her, as though the wheel is indeed rolling. This time, TA must find her place and prove to the network that she deserves the support of the management. The first thing she must address is, of course, the memo.

Are Abra and Janeena Together??

Judging by their social media activities, it’s obvious that Janeena Chan and Abra are busy with their respective fields. The model/host attended photoshoots, events and gigs, while the rapper is promoting his new song and music video. However, in between their separate activities, they both posted on their Instagram stories that they are together - hinting at some sort of a collaboration.

Fans had many speculations, but Moringa-O2, an herbal hair and skin care brand, released a teaser few days ago, announcing that they are having new family members (a.k.a endorsers) soon. Moringa-O2 also released a series of clues that strengthened these speculations.

Fortunately, this afternoon, Moringa-O2 officially announced that Abra and Janeena are indeed working together to promote a healthier lifestyle.
