Ellen Adarna finally spoke at length about why she and Sebastian “Baste” Duterte ended their relationship.

Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the press conference for her upcoming movie “Moonlight Over Baler,” Adarna said she and Duterte called it quits before Christmas.

“It was a very weird breakup. It’s funny. Instead of texting a girlfriend na ‘Good morning,’ ang text niya, ‘Ano na lang kaya kung maghiwalay tayo?’ Sabi ko, okay. And then hindi na kami. Actually hindi ako na-shock,” she said.

Adarna said she really gets along well with Duterte because they share a lot of common interests but there were also issues that they weren’t able to resolve.

While their breakup has affected her, Adarna said she has already “moved on and accepted things.”

“Mabilis ako mag-move on, talent ko 'yan. Kapag may times na I’m hurting, I’m really hurting. Alam naman ng mga tao 'yun. Nagmumukmok ako sa bahay, umiiyak ako. Pero iiyakan kita ng three days and then I’m done,” she said.

While their relationship is over, Adarna still considers Duterte as her best friend.

“I can talk to him about anything and he can talk to me about anything. May time na nung naghiwalay kami, hindi kami nag-usap because of course, it’s part of the process. After New Year, we spoke. Kasi ang dami pa niyang gamit sa bahay… and then last week lang, nagkita kami, magkasama with friends, okay na. Okay na talaga. Friends na lang talaga kami,” she said.

Is she willing to go out with him on Valentine’s Day? “Okay lang kung as friends, kasama ang barkada. Okay lang wala akong pakialam,” she said.

According to Adarna, Duterte started to court her after his father took his oath as the president of the Philippines.

Adarna said she and the President have already met when she was invited over for dinner at the Malacanang Palace when she and Duterte were still together.

Not Liking His Match

If things work out toward a forever after, Alluring Celebrity (AC) will end up in a most ideal situation with a Vigorous Partner (VP), who happens to be financially and emotionally secure. Apparently, the personalities of AC and VP matched and have hit it off as indicated by their posts in their social media accounts. SF prefers PL because of her potential in the long-term. While PL is more successful than AC in all aspects, she could also be an advantage later. PL exudes positive aura, whereas AC attracts the negative. At this point, SF would only want to attract positive vibes. She fears that AC might not bring them good luck, which could affect the reputation of the entire family. Further, SF is worried that certain personalities in the life of AC might resurface and cause trouble.

While AC and VP seem certain in their feelings toward each other, SF could only let go and assure VP that she will always be around in case he suffers another heartbreak or when he needs someone to listen to. Moreover, it was never in the nature of SF to interfere with the choices of VP. Still, she feels sorry that PL and VP were not meant for each other.
