Junking His Plea for Another Chance
Some time ago, a network took the risk of giving a big break to an Underrated Talented (UT). UT did not fit the mode of the usual leading men the network has invested in. Although UT was versatile, he was new and untested. Hence, the network would have to consider ways to make UT a household name. To the shock of the network, UT was accepted by the audience and his project was a mild hit. From that moment onwards, UT was expected to be the next big star of the network. After all, the right camera angles could bring out his best profile, the right song would showcase his voice, and the right project would show off his acting talent.
However, UT wasted his opportunity for personal reasons. Demons of his past kept showing up, such that he could no longer function well. While some showbiz press found his situation newsworthy, the network could only shake its head. The management had invested much in UT, but he was so distracted that they had to cut short his projects to stop the bleeding of the coffers of the network.
Knowing that he would not be able to walk along his life with his present disposition on his own, his family decided that UT should stay away from the limelight until he could recover. In between, UT worked on a project that was such a big hit that his network noticed him again. Once again, his network gave him a challenging project. The succeeding weeks proved the cliché of ‘History repeats itself,’ came true. This time, UT was worse than before. With love that crumbled right before his eyes and with his frustration not having an appropriate outlet, UT was more troubled than ever. He had to stay low or else he would further bring himself down to the gutter.
Time passed and UT felt he was better. Naturally, he approached his station and humbled himself. Hoping that the management would give him another chance, he was disappointed. This time, the management refused his plea and told him to wait. The network was still feeling the loss of their investment in the previous projects of UT. With no project yet, UT was encouraged to develop his other talents to make sure his presence will not be forgotten by the audience.
